PRIDE IS IMPORTANT.....

I know it may seem like we have made some major strives, and we have, the majority of people don't mind people being gay, most likely know someone gay, have the live and let live motto, and the numbers are slowly growing...but many others, straight and gay see being LGBT as being more accepted so why is Pride still needed??? I saw some these. Is Pride still needed? YES!

And finally...

HAPPY GAY PRIDE!

  1. well said. thems on the right are constantly working to undermine things - and they succeed this way. If we don't remain active it will slowly return to the bad times.

    1. As with many other things...I have learned to enjoy the strived and accomplishments, but don't ever get comfortable for too long....the fight is not yet over.

  3. The huge backlash against LGBTQ rights in recent years is a mighty strong reason to keep the Pride movement going.

  6. A great thing to post Mistress!

In early June I spent the afternoon at Provincetown Pride here and came home feeling something we don’t always let ourselves feel right now: grounded.

It’s easy to get caught up in the noise. The headlines. The rollbacks. The exhaustion of having to fight for things that should never have been up for debate. But then you stand in a crowd of people who have been showing up for decades. People who lost friends and fought anyway. People who came out in harder times than this and built something beautiful anyway. And you remember that pride was never a celebration of how far we’ve come. It’s a declaration that we are still here.

We are still here. Happy Pride all!!!!

  8. HERE HERE!!!! Pride is very important to me to celebrate every year and every day because my sibling once asked, "Why don't we celebrate pride month?", when we were like 10 and my dad replied saying "Why would we celebrate - those - people?", knowing both of his children are "those" people. And He still doesn't approve of it.

  9. All of these. Wow.

And my 12 year old grandson came to me yesterday and said he think he might be gay but not sure. I told him to take his time and whatever will be will be. Can you imagine me with my gay grandson if he is!!!! I suspect he is...he is pretty fabulous, HA!

  10. Pride is important because there are kids whose families threw them out to live on the streets.
