PRIDE LEADERSHIP- WE BELONG

It's always a good thing to have some good news during the month of Pride, and to see what good leadership is like. And Warbucks can testify for the happy feeling in Budapest since Orban's being outsed.

Last year, Budapest's mayor risked prosecution to make sure Prude could still happen. This week thanks to the courts and the new Prime Minster Peter Maygar the charges against him were dropped. Mayor Gergely Karacsont became an international symbol  of resistance in 2025 after Hungray's government attempted to ban Budapest Pride under controversial anti-LGBTQ legislation. Rather then cancel the event, Karacsony helped reclassify it as a municipal event and encourage people to show up anyway, in which they did ...in huge numbers. Remember shots of the Budapest Bridge packed end to end with people and overflowing into the city? An estimated 300,000 people filled the streets in what became not only one of the larger pride marches in the city's history but also a major protest against the vile Victor Orban and his government. Afterwards Karacsony was charged for helping organize the event. Now the charges are dropped. For many LGBT + Hungarians, this isn't just a legal victory. It's a reminder that Pride happened anyway. That people showed up anyway. That sometimes the people who try to ban visibility end up making it even more visible.

On the same note...

As Prime Minster Peter Magayr continues the Pride. as he embracing the nations LGBTQ . Under the reign of ultra-right wing Orban, Pride parades were bans by the nation's government in 2025.  Keeping his promise, Magyar threw out the legislation. Now due to Magyar and others appointed in the new government the LGBTQ people of Hungary can now celebrate and be in the community without fear of persecution.

Meanwhile, over in the Nertherlands....yet another great and out leader. Prime Minster and President Rob Jetten.

As far as President Jetten is concerned June is Pride Month, but as far as he and the Netherlands is concerned, every month is Pride month. As it should be. Bravo to these leaders.

What leaders' looks like ...and not playing a selfish child who wants to play grown up, with circus like talents, running a country with drama and a bunch of bullshit with his name of things and UFC fights on the lawn of the White Trash House.

Happy Pride!

  1. Oh, that we should reach the point where every month is Pride Month.... when we all can be who we are without fear.

  2. VD Jance's oratory wasn't enough to persuade the Hungarians to keep Orban. And now the Albanians have followed suit in throwing off the Putrid yoke.

  3. Orban was a piece of shit.
That's why he was Cankles' role model. Duh.
But this is a step in the right direction. What a great Ally.

    Yay the Netherlands!

    Happy Pride!

    XOXO

    1. When I had my trip to visit War bucks in Budapest a couple years ago, I felt bad because the city was such a stunning City with an asshole of a dictator for president. Peter is a huge Improvement and if I may add much easier on the eyes! And the president of the Netherlands, President Jetten he's doing all kinds of lovely things and is out and happily married. America seems to be one of the few countries where we have a problem with sexual orientation still. I guess the United States wasn't as Forward Thinking as we thought.

  4. I was never a fan of Orban, and now the Albanians are rising up to Kushner. I'm loving every minute of it.

    1. When it comes to the end of Trump's term, I think that family is going to have one hell of a crash landing. Trumps and Kushners think they are well liked in Europe and they are not. We're quickly becoming a Sitting Duck country with very little support from any of our allies.

  5. It's looks as though Conservatives are losing their grip on the world, and it's about time.

  6. It is about time that the tides turned on these godawful tinpot dictators - there's been rumours around for ages that Putin has health problems, the Tangerine Twat is 80 next week, and for every African dictator, there's a civil war or revolution just around the corner. We live in hope... Jx

    1. He's another one. He will never leave officer get voted out. The only way he leaves is if he kicks the bucket. Oh I know is it will be a happy day when he and Trump both kick the bucket. The sooner the better.

    2. Amen. The world would be a better place. Although, admittedly, it would be a world that would still have to deal with China - not exactly the most (ahem) tolerant of regimes (although, unlike many countries, homosexuality is at least legal there)... Jx

  7. They are so refreshing and welcome in these awful times. Thrilled to see Hungary acting like a Proud member of the European Union. Maybe there’s hope.

  8. The fight for any type of rights is always a three steps forward, two steps back proposition. What's important is not to lose sight of the arc of progress and the leaders of Hungary & Netherlands are helping to light the way!

  9. Mayor Gergely Karácsony you are a true inspiration and a shining example that even jnust one voice speaking up can be heard...loudly! And Kudos to Peter Magyar and President Rob Jetten for being with it and representing all their citizens. I can recall when the US was forward thinking and moving ahead and on the edge of everything.... not so much anymore. Come live here if you want to pay more for everything, and live back in the 50's.

    1. I know. I think we were on the right track with Obama. I wish there were a few things he would have done since he had the number, but overall we went in a good direction and did good things. But since???

  12. After seeing these swell men as leaders, it makes one sad to see how the US has fallen. When will the world have smart and peaceful leaders like these men?

  13. We haven't gone in the right direction since Obama. Sadly.

Leaders with character who care about people make an enormous difference. I am happy for these two countries.

    Éljen Magyarország ! 🇭🇺
Des dirigeants comme Karacsony et Magyar ont sortie la Hongrie des ténèbres pour la ramener vers la lumière. La volonté du peuple l’a emporté.
    Orbán représentait une impasse ;
les tyrans oppressifs de Serbie, de Slovaquie, de Biélorussie et de Russie suivent la même voie vers leur chute inévitable. La volonté du peuple prévaudra. 🌅
