Calmness is not just a state of mind; it is a skill that can transform your life. It enhances decision making, improves emotional intelligence, and boosts resilience. By cultivating calmness, you can navigate life with clarity and purpose, leading to better health, stronger relationships, and greater success in both personal and professional spheres. Of course, a good snowstorm and deep blankets of white would make for a nice calm too. And stay calm...it's Monday......
Happy Monday All

Happy Monday, Mads. I think I'll stay calm by working on stuff the editor sent, then reading.
ReplyDeleteThese days best not to even put on the tv.
DeleteCan the bearded guy in the argyle sweater come stay at my house. That would be calming, in a way!
ReplyDeleteI feel in love with that sweater. I did a google search on it and found it and ordered it. Unfortunately, the bearded hunk doesn't come with it damn it.
DeleteOh I may have to Google the sweater ... if not the man!!!
DeleteThe company is called Darren Gumbs
DeleteCat on a Hot Tin Roof, eh?
ReplyDeleteYou are so right, Calmness in the Face of adversity is Paramount to survival
ReplyDeleteI agree...give me my candlelit evenings and gin and tonic.
DeleteFab photo choices as always and a nice start to the week!
ReplyDeleteThe white budgie at the mirror...calming. The Arrow Collar Man by J.C. Leyendecker...stimulating. I had a grouping of 9 of his illustration on my wall for many years. He defined the man of style in the 20s and 30s, always with a touch of homoerotica. If I didn't have to live in this timeline, I would have enjoyed being a man in that time period, with the same financial resources of course. Leyendecker lived with his frequent model, Charles A. Beach for most of his adult life (1903-1951) from Wikipedia.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Milleson. I too think I was left behind from another time, and should be living in that time as well. Just for the dandy dressing alone. I can imagine that collage of 9 illustrations of J.C. Leyendecker was very handsome. I have a collection of Rene Gruau's works I had hanging in my gallery hallway that I loved.
DeleteCalm! That is one thing about my move that I liked. Being here shoreside has been very calming. What a mood board this week. You know I adore the crushed velvet sofa and that room. I spent my weekend taking f=down the few Christmases decorations. I admit, I'm not opposed to some snow.
ReplyDeleteI did the same thing Agnes! The house feel fresh and clean. I even opened all the window wide to let fresh air in.
DeleteWinter is by far, not my favorite season, but here is a beauty to it and a calmness. I'm ready for one of those huge snowstorms that shuts everything down for a few days. Did i just sat that???
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collection of mood picture today. Love the polar bear picture. And the hot guy in the boxes yawning. Fun picture, sums up Monday alright...but don't know how calm he would get me!!!
ReplyDeleteYes...I don't think he'd make me to calm either.
DeleteI trust your weekend was a good one? I love calm, and it's one reason I enjoy your Monday Post and blog in general. It's always a fun stop and takes the mind off the news and nightmare we live in. And to enjoy visual delights. Even if it's a brief couple of minutes. The animals stole the show today. Course I wouldn't pass up one of those desserts.
ReplyDeleteI did! I took down my Christmas decorations and did a deep clean on the house. Now I'm ready to hibernate.
DeleteOur Great Tits and robins are eating peanuts faster than we can get them in the feeder.
ReplyDeleteI hear that, Helen. I had to fill my feeders twice and the suet holders once this weekend.
DeleteHard (ahem) to be calm when I look at photos 5, 10, and 15.
ReplyDeleteUm, Mitchell...you get excited when you see a moose? Interesting LOL
DeleteMaybe Moose hung!
DeleteCalm?! On a MONDAY?! Jx
ReplyDeleteAs calm as a Monday could be.
DeleteI thought calm on a Monday too? Did you have a swim in the gin bath in the AM?
DeleteWouldn't it be lovely (and calming) to live in one of those "Gingerbread" houses along a canal in Amsterdam? Had to laugh at all to little blue birds huddled together on a branch and the white budgie (parakeet?) finding a friend in the mirror too.
ReplyDeleteHaving been to Amsterdam I love that row of neighborhood along the canal.
DeleteCalm is better than screaming I guess.
ReplyDeleteLOVELOVELOVELOVE Elizabeth in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof!
ReplyDeleteA classic.
And that blond?????????? Gimme. Now.
XOXO
He is sure to keep you warm on a cold winter's night.
DeleteWhen I started to pull up your blog and didn't see it clearly, I thought the first photo was of a large white tooth with an indentation in the middle. I was relieved to find it was a bird with a mirror. I will be much more calm when we get rid of some (even better would be all) of these motherfucking Republicans.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
I like the way you think! Happy Monday dear.
DeleteI've had a filthy mouth for many years. Both of my kids got perfect scores on the profanity section of the SATs.
DeleteI try to Maintain my Calm, sometimes I even Succeed. *LOL and Winks* That Bird looking Mad at himself in the Mirror is hilarious!!!
ReplyDeleteLove this mood! Just why does Mercedes not make that models anymore? My, how their style has sank.
ReplyDeleteYou got me in the mood to go on a ski trip now. I love all the winter pictures. And the men to keep us warm.
ReplyDeleteAnd where did your blog go Cali?
DeleteI love the MOOSE!
ReplyDeleteRight back atcha! I love this collection!
