My Lastest Clandestine

Now about that date. Let's use the word clandestine instead shall we? Date and squire scare the hell out of me! And it's always hell trying to pick out what you what to wear,no? While I had met my suitor once before, I was still a bit wound up, so I had a cock-a-tail. Then I decided to go with my slim fit Hudson's, with a v-neck sweater and a loosely tied tie. I love ties, and have been known to wear them with tie shirts already! But I did a fitted buttoned down from J.Crew.......a loose traditional look, with a touch of urban.......

Since the warmth left us all of a sudden and decided to get chilly, and rainy, I got to wear the new investment, my Burberry trench for the evening......

and my new Billy Reid's completed the look for the evening......

Then it was off in the townecar to his place, where we had very nice conversation and another cock-a-tail. One of my luxuries is eating out, I just plain love it. So when I was told we were going to Buddakan, a Stephen Starr joint, I was overly excited, another off my bucket list. He may have thought me nuts when I said I was a Starr groupie!

Still one of the favorite restaurants in Philadelphia, Stephen Starr's "gem" in Old City serves up delicious large portions of some of the best Asian fusion dishes around. With such mainstays as tuna, lobster and calamari salad, Buddakan improves upon the standards and adds creative twists such as, wasabi tuna pizza, which I got, angry lobster, and a crispy calamari salad with ginger dressing. They even had Sake Flights, which you guessed, I ordered. And I had no idea warm sake hit one so hard!!! The snow pea ravioli I got was also out of this world! The place itself is yet, another Stephen Starr masterpiece! The place is breathtaking, and seemed a hot spot, while sitting at the 24-seat, self-lit communal table. At the center of the room sitting just below the bar and the room's focal point, was giant Buddha! The long table allows for a fun dining experience,whether chatting with your friends or getting acquainted with your "neighbors," it's fun to be part of the room's "main event."

So with a handsome date, the ambient lighting, and the wonderful food, it all conspired to make for a evening of enchantment. We ordered dessert to go and had it at his place followed by a nightcap. I'd be remiss if I didn't say I was a little smitten. Now, you didn't really think I was going to kiss and tell did you? Tootles!
