How Do You Say Dee-Gorgerous, Dee-Lelectable, Dee-Lovely, Dee-Vine

Why Dee-lite of course! I have really been in a Dee-lite mood lately listening to all my dee-lovely cds I have from them, and they are such a feel good group how can you not get in a good mood when you hear them? And for some reason my creativity really starts to flow when I listen to them. Dee-Lite was a house and club/dance group formed in New York City back in the very early nineties. Their best-known single is Groove Is in the Heart, and Power of Love from its 1990 debut album, World Clique. However, Dee-Lite achieved longer lasting success on the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart, where it scored six number-one hits. Dmitri Brill and Lady Keir Kirby had an ongoing romantic relationship which ended prior to the release of the group's third album, Dewdrops in the Garden, one of my favorites. Also prior to that release, Tei left the band, and was replaced with DJ Ani. Even with a roster change, minimal record label support and growing tension between separated couple Brill and Kirby, Dee-Lite still managed to tour for a year after the release of "Dewdrops in the Garden". Consequently, "Dewdrops in the Garden" sold more records than Dee-Lite's second release, "Infinity Within". There songs Electric Shock and Music Selector is the Sole Reflector were two of my all-time favorite songs by the group. Some evenings those songs put me in such a dee-trance I didn't know which end was up!!! And if you ask me, Lady Keir was way ahead of her time being the precursor of Lady Gaga, with out there outfits! She had such a chic retro look!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Happy Saint Patricks everyone! Are you doing anything special for the day. This year The Mistress isn't going out to drink as that it is a every weekend occurrence!!! No this year I going to make a corn beef brisket and cabbage accompanied with some beer! Just for shits and giggles! Being part Irish I have to celebrate. But for the most part I'm a European mutt of Dutch, Irish, Swiss and Czech. Two of my grandparents being born in those countries, then moving here.



Saint Patrick's Day is a yearly holiday celebrated on March 17th. It is named after Saint Patrick, the most commonly recognized of the patron saints of Ireland. It began as a purely Christian holiday and became an official feast day in the early 1600s. However, it has gradually become more of a secular celebration of Ireland's culture.



Originally the color associated with Saint Patrick was blue. However, over the years the color green and its association with Saint Patrick's day grew. Green ribbons and shamrocks were worn in celebration of St Patrick's Day as early as the 17th century. He is said to have used the shamrock, a three-leaved plant, to explain the Holy Trinity to the pre-Christian Irish, and the wearing and display of shamrocks and shamrock-inspired designs have become a ubiquitous feature of the day. Then in 1798 in hopes of making a political statement Irish soldiers wore full green uniforms on 17th of March in hopes of catching attention with their unusual fashion gimmick. The phrase "the wearing of the green", meaning to wear a shamrock on one's clothing, derives from the song of the same name.



Today customs of Saint Patrick's Day is widely celebrated in America by Irish and non-Irish alike. Many people, regardless of ethnic background, wear green-coloured clothing and items. Traditionally, those who are caught not wearing green are pinched affectionately. Seattle and other cities paint the traffic stripe of their parade routes green. Chicago dyes its river green and has done so since 1962 when sewer workers used green dye to check for sewer discharges and had the idea to turn the river green for Saint Patrick's Day. Originally 100 pounds of vegetable dye was used to turn the river green for a whole week but now only forty pounds of dye is used and the colour only lasts for several hours




Then of course there is my favorite part. DRINKING!!! And the corn beef and cabbage of which I will be par-taking of this year. And you can't forget all the hot looking men in kilts!!!!!!!!! I love to see a man with a nice shillelagh under his kilt!!!!!

The elegance of Ingenue!


Ingenue, who now resides in Madison, Wisconsin has been on the drag scene some time now. The Mistress was girlfriends with her when she was living in Harrisburg, where thanks to her, she revived drag where it was almost non-existent. Most of the entertaining divas had moved on at that point. And could girlfriend throw a fabulous after hours party!!! Ingenue really came into her own and started doing drag in Harrisburg, where she blossomed to a beautiful diva. After leaving "the burg", she hit the Maryland drag circuit where she was Miss Gay Maryland among other titles. Ingenue is one talented Grande Dame who dances, sings, and emcees. In her private life she is now a art dealer by trade. A beauty trading beauty. Ingenue can be scene all over Wisconsin running for titles and showing at cabaret clubs. Miss ya girl!
