THIS FOURTH OF JULY........

……..with  the heat , the Mistress is pulling at stakes, and is heading off on vacation again, to Rehoboth Beach to enjoy some sand and surf. I have my square cuts, gin, tonic ,limes and ice , and not much else that I'm taking along with me. It's almost to hot to dress dears! Other then that the Mistress has her flags up and ready.

I'll be back in a week or so, unless I get into a altercation with a shark or lobster, or a square cut bandit.

And remember....we can be parotitic for our beautiful country....but not necessary for our lousy government!!!

SPLASH TIME

Does the weekend have to end?!?!?

Summer arrived this weekend....and the Mistress had some splish- splash time at my ever faithful Raven Resort. While it may have been hot hot hot in more than one way, the libations and water keep me cool, and met several new friends over the weekend. It was a most lovely weekend, and entertaining as some of the conversations I over heard!!! As your aware, I love me my umbrellas……

And this bear had the gull to wear a wide brim, even bigger than mine!!!!!!

Oh well, one can't win them all. 

And I can't complain, it's to be a two day work week.....I think that calls for the official song of summer...Calvin Harris's new ditty. It's been huge at Tea Dance this year. Let's start this week right!!!

EMPTY NEST SYNDROME

Yes dear children...the Mistress is going through the empty nest syndrome. Since our last posting, I was beyond amazed how fast birds grow! Seems Roberta the robin did a great job raising her young.

I could swear I heard this one asking for gin?

I told him I didn't have any. By this look, I don't think he bought any of it.

As the babies got bigger, it was getting a tight fit for the three babies, and I noticed Roberta was not sleeping on the nest anymore at night. I believe she roosted in the near by tree on the corner by the window. Just look at the struggles of fitting in there.

The third is under these two!!! The poor thing.

Come Friday I noticed it was down to one fledgling left. The other two must have flown the nest Thursday sometime. I like to believe this one little bird didn't want to leave the Mistress, or was just enjoying the nest a little more.....

…..cause come Saturday when I got back from the pool he too was gone. No sign of any in the nest last night or this morning. I did however spot Roberta and one flapping around in a tree by the livingroom windows this afternoon. I wish them well on their new life in this big world. And may it be kind to them.
