I would be a terrible host, if I didn't apologize for being sparse this week, but after my guest from last weekend left, one of my suitors from Denver announced he'd be in town Tuesday for the whole week!!! He is famous for these last minute announcements. I have mentioned he used to be a chemical engineer, but now does film location research and fact checking for a Hollywood studio. He always squires me out when in town, so there have been many a late night this week. And he often foots every bill, and never lets me pick up the check.I told him would you please let me treat at least once? When he buys the dinner, it means I have to have sex, which then would make me a prostitute!!!  When Ms.Moorecock found out he also has two other homes...her reply..."Marry him mum, the minute he asks you!" Tomorrow will be spent at my ever faithful playground with him at the Raven Resort...with cock-a-tails of course.

 When I think of great legendary drag queens and impersonators, Charles Busch is right up there with Jim Bailey, Charles Pierce, Lady Bunny, Danny LaRue and Craig Russell.  If your not familiar with this phenomenal performer, you must simply check him out, though his plays or movies. If your to be in the Philadelphia/New York City area in July his newest show catches up with the legendary star with his show That Girl/That Boy. Charles is the author and star of such plays as The Divine Sister, The Lady in Question, Red Scare on Sunset and Vampire Lesbians of Sodom, which ran five years and is one of the longest running plays in Off-Broadway history. His play The Tale of the Allergist’s Wife ran for 777 performances on Broadway and won Charles the Outer Circle Critics John Gassner Award and received a Tony nomination for Best Play. He wrote and starred in the film versions of his plays, Psycho Beach Party and Die Mommie Die, the latter of which won him the Best Performance Award at the Sundance Film Festival.

 

 Charles made his directorial debut with the film A Very Serious Person, which premiered at the 2006 Tribeca Film Festival, where it won an honorable mention. He is also the subject of the documentary film The Lady in Question is Charles Busch. Due to his love and knowledge of film and theatre history, he has appeared in numerous documentaries for Turner Classic Movies and has lectured and conducted master classes at many colleges and universities including NYU, Harvard, UCLA and Amherst College.  In 2003, Mr. Busch received a special Drama Desk Award for career achievement as both performer and playwright and was honored with a star on the Playwrights Walk outside the Lucille Lortel Theatre.  

As a cabaret artist, he is a two-time MAC award winner and has performed his cabaret act in many cities including San Francisco, Provincetown, New Orleans, Atlanta, Philadelphia and in New York at the Ballroom, Birdland and 54 Below, where his current show can  be seen,  July 14, 16, 17, 23 at 7pm! That Girl/That Boy combines Charles' hilarious personal reminiscence, character sketches and superb storytelling with one glittering and glamorous evening in cabaret. Click here for tickets!

CALLING BEST IN FELINES..........

 

It seems the Mistress had a lovely Fourth of July, from what a was told, (Sunday was ugly...I had to have coffee and a side car sent to the boudoir for recovery)..... but have been way laid with another visiting friend and the Lad.... till today..... and went back to work. Till I am caught up, we here at the Casa have called far and wide for a Feline Cat Show right here on the grounds of the Casa du Borghese.........

 

 

of course Anne Marie showed up first....... dragging her puss along. I guess it's hard to carry a cat when the gallon of gin is weighing your purse down.

 

Looks like Bob decided to wear his puss close to his heart......

 

Miss Lady Finger spread her pus right across the damn table!!!! Never mind I cut my cheese right there.

 

Just a reminder the judging could take some time, as the Mistress has never seen, or,  not even sure what to judge so much pussy on? But I will eventually pick a Best Pussy in Show........ And now here is the Fabulous LADY BUNNY with some entertainment.......

I'll be out for a picnic today with friends, and have already entertained my new hunky neighbor, who just moved from Denver, (oh I didn't mention that sooner), and another good neighbor, for morning muffins and mimosas and watched our little hamlet's July Fourth parade. It's a bit cool, and hopefully the rain will hold out for my friends BBQ. Meanwhile on my last vacation, I also visited the Capital Street Duo, who have there summer courtyard all bejeweled......

 

Meanwhile I'm all set. Patriotism.check. Gin.check.Cigar. check.........
