CHILL OUT

Well... I made it in for a half day as the weather this morning made the roads very slick with a heavy wet snowfall. I was more than happy to not have to rush around as we weren't opening till noon. It gave me some time to go out and clean the walk and driveway and get a few snaps of the picturesque winterscape. The opening picture was the first capture at 4:30 am... then I went back to bed for another 2 hours. I was beyond tickled when I got back up and it was heavier covered in a world of white!!!  I always think the trees look the prettiest. The birds were out too. It is the Robins I felt for...just returned and been fooled by Mother Nature...as this snow hit.

SEEN IN NEW HOPE

It's been a relaxing weekend after all the holiday festivities. I was to be in Harrisburg this weekend with the family, as we we're to gather for a memorial dinner and remembrance for my aunt, but early in the week, we got word that one son and his family caught Covid, as well as did my uncle and his son. Most likely my cousin got it from the school where he teaches music and passed it to my uncle. We worried immediately for my uncle, being so close to 90, but he himself is not showing any signs, even though he tested positive. My cousin on the other hand has a terrible cough and breathing issues. Between that and the weather we talked with the eldest son, and we thought it best to have the memorial closer to spring on what would be my aunt's birthday, which is what we wanted more anyhow. Their eldest son's wife is a doctor, so when in town once, she left us with about 15 rapid test to have on hand. Thank heavens myself and my mother tested negative. Besides, with the amount of gin I drink, good luck for any virus to penetrate me. The last one ended up in the Betty Ford. So yesterday I took a walk about in New Hope which is back to being incredibly quiet. And peaceful.

A neat ice sculpture to commemorate George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River. And of course, had to stop off for a nice winter stiffener made with none other than Blue Coat gin.

This ditty seemed to be perfect for the day, yesterday. Today has been nothing but vegging.
