AMSTERDAM

Wow. I couldn't believe that my Amsterdam trip was all the way back in 2014. It doesn't seem that long ago. Amsterdam was my second foray into Europe really, and is truly one of the most electric cities on earth, with beautiful canals, funky art, the wind mills and tulip fields,  which are incredible to see btw, and of course, an extremely open policy of "soft drugs" and sexuality. There really is something for everyone here, whether you're into museums, food or just want to feel immersed in the culture, it's the perfect city to be in while not feeling overwhelmed by a big city. And don't get me started on the cheese markets! Of course Mistress' Maddie's #1 Fan was the perfect travel partner, even though we did find ourselves into some debauchery. Ok, a lot of debauchery. What can I say,  we met some dashing locals. I have already posted about many of the sights we saw and they can be seen by clicking Amsterdam in the tags. While I did share moments from the Van Vogh museum and the Rembrandt House, I never shared pictures from the Rijksmuseum. The Rijksmuseum has been around for 200 years,  and during it's existence, has went through many transformations, and shouldn't be missed. The museum has rose to one of the world's leading museums for it's many masterpieces of Dutch and world art. Along with masterworks from Rembrandt, Vermeer, van Dyck, and Jan Steen, the museum has truly a exceptional collection of the antique objects of the Dutch culture,  and vast collections of prints drawings and classic photograpghy. The van Gogh Museum is right next door, so it's like a two for one.

ENVY

Right on the heels, literally.... after Drag Race Canada,  was Drag Race Holland. I thought the Canadian bacon version would be hard to beat, but I must say... Holland might have just been the best season of this series I have seen to date. The queens on the Holland version were fucking fantastic... and what you'd expect  queens to be. But I had a feeling from the get go, one of the most stunning queens and performers, in my opinion, would take this. And she did. She won more main challenges than are other queen so far. Meet DragRace Holland's winner.... Envy Peru.. one of the Netherlands’ leading drag queens. She is part of the award winning drag house, Mermaids Mansion.  Envy does all her own hair and make-up and can this queen beat a face and do some hair!!!! And Im all here for her very editorial looks and style honey. This Peruvian doll, based out of Amsterdam, is a sweet, flirtatious and seductive beauty queen. And I’m in love with her art form of drag in every kind of way. Envy works as a makeup artist, host, and entertainer, and travels doing shows all across Europe and has been featured in two Dutch movies this year. Currently, Envy is getting ready to shoot her own television show on Dutch National Television…together with two fabulous drag sisters. Envy Peru is the artistic name of Boris Itzkovich Escobar, born in Trujillo, Peru in 1989. he moved with his mother and aunt to the Netherlands at the age of four, where they began working in the world of theater and makeup. Before appearing on Drag Race Holland, Envy was already extremely known in the country and one of Europe's most stunning queens and as one of the three queer hosts of the show De diva in miji. No doubt Envy is a first rate queen and showgirl and so talented...Condragulations of this win Envy!!!! Much deserved.

GRANDE DAME

We are proud to have  this week Miss Envy Peru as our fabulous Grande Dame! As part of the Mermaid's Mansion club , a club that is a mixture of different cultures that come together through beauty, fierceness and elegance. Mermaids Mansion offers a diverse group of girls to entertain you...and Envy snatched all the trophies at the 2017 Superball and she is still the fishiest Queen in Amsterdam! With her great sense of style and spot on lip-syncs she is a well rounded showgirl. The first and only time I had the privilege to see her was on my trip to Amsterdam back in 2016....where I was quickly mesmerized by her strong style and bring the house down performance. It's easy to see why she is belle of the canal come gay pride. Envy has been doing drag since 2016, and is also connected to many LGBTQ charities. She's flawless I tell ya.

Words to live by really!

GRANDE DAME

Lady Galore is one of my favorite bigger queens right next to Latrice Royale and Delta Work....and was created for Gay Pride 2009 in Amsterdam. After that she was unstoppable. She is ever sharp and right on point with her signature style. She started out making her own outfits, practicing make-up and making appearances to various party’s throughout the first year. Throwing her own party’s, photo-shoots and uploading YouTube video’s were the next step. After only 2 years she has been strutting her stuff on a international level. Paris, Berlin, Tokyo, Madrid, Antwerp, Cologne, Belfast, Glasgow, Stockholm…. the sky is the limit. She started up several events like the “right to feel safe” protest in 2010 and the annual Drag Queens United event. Taboo’s fabulous cocktail wednesday’s, Gay high tea’s, and conceptualized Fancy Friday wich is happening every friday at Queers Bar.  For 4 years every Sunday she organised, hosted, presented and performed at her own event called “Lady Galore’s Drag Night” But after 208 shows it was time to step up her game and she’s went on to bigger things like hosting her own stage show. Since than Lady Galore’s been travelling the world. performing in every major city in europe and making new plans for the future including her first ever stop in the US, where she will undoubtedly spread her message of "Let’s make more GLAMOUR!" Her website.
