Where in the world did the time go today? Not that I'm complaining that Monday flew by. As you can see from the previous post my Monday morning with horrific. But what Mondays aren't? I'm gearing up tomorrow for St Patrick's Day. Am I 100% Irish? By no means no. I am a quarter Irish though. My paternal grandmother, her parents were from Ireland. I'm what they call a European mutt. My maternal grandparents were actually born in Czechoslovakia, while my paternal grandmother's family was from Ireland, and my paternal grandfather's family was from Holland. So I guess that makes me Czech... Dutch ...and Irish. I think there may be a little bit of Swiss in there somewhere too . So just enough Irish to enjoy St Patty's Day tomorrow. And yes I do have a corned beef dinner in the plans! With some mashed potatoes and cabbage.

DeleteI am going to make Beef and Guinness pie - the first time I had it was in Dublin six-years ago. Was your grandmother from the Republic of Ireland, or occupied Northern Ireland? If she was from the South, you should qualify for Irish Citizenship. If she was from the north, England offers a five-year long stay visa, renewable for another five, then eligible for citizenship.

That bridge looks very much like a bridge in a nearby village where a battle, between the Roundheads and Cavaliers, was fought in the mid 17th century. My snowdrops and crocus have all gone over, but my Snowflakes and Narcissi are all out, along with violets, rosemary, primulas, forsythia, Magnolia stellata and Kerria.
