It is with heartbreaking news that we mourn the loss of our beloved Geritol Kane here in New Hope and a Raven Resort staple . While at the gay pride festivities on Sunday a good friend called to tell me the sad news. Our condolences are with Geritol’s family, and the rest of New Hope, and everyone who had the privilege to know him.
Geritol brought life and joy, on-stage and off, and we know he will always be a light on our community. Geritol was a crazy queen, always a cut up... and always ready to do a show for some LBGT related cause no matter how busy, and one of the last of true New Hope drag legends. “When you lose someone you love, you gain an angel you know.” She'll always be in our hearts, and the towns.
May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeletemy condolences, dear maddie.

Poor Geritol. I am not sure but I think we saw a cabaret of his at the now closed Odette's. He did quite a song, comedy, and slack stick.
ReplyDeleteOh dear...I hadn't heard. She made those pool shows entertaining as hell. I hadn't seen him in some time though.
