JUBILANT NEWS

It's been quite a year. I lost my job in a restructure, only to pull a Joan Crawford to wheel and deal and get it back, I finally met the legendary snow queen Anna Wintour and lived to tell about, met three more bloggers, spent two days finally at the fabulous Hotel Hershey Spa, where I almost ate myself, enjoyed a nice five months off, and finally invaded South America on a three week tour! Then fellow blogger buddy, Steven, goes and reveals ABBA will be releasing new music!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*faints back on fainting chaise*

Where was I?  Oh..ABBA getting back together. I may need smelling salts!

The members of ABBA announced Friday that they have recorded new material for the first time in 35 years. NOW .....I have always been HUGE FANS of them, even though I was but a wee lad then, but when I came out OH LORD!!!!....so many hits to choose from. ABBA has always been one, NO.... THE  group that no matter my mood, depressed, sad, happy, angry or even sick, can put me in a good mood and get  me dancing. They have also supplied hours of music on road trips. My little gay heart is over jubilant today!!!!!! The Swedish pop super group said it had recorded two new songs, including one titled "I Still Have Faith in You.". With such good new...we must celebrate!!!!!!

Steven is only lucky he wasn't here to give me the news in person. I might have jumped him.
Now where did I leave those smelling salts?

  1. ABBA is one of those groups that I loved back in the day, too. I had no idea this was coming, and I feel the same!

  3. I recently just saw, and loved a photo of them together in 2017, they haven't tried to stay 29 at all costs like other performers, hooray! And to me Frida's beautifully boned face and cat's eyes are still lovely in age. They were all four fine musicians - the women were greatly underrated in this respect, their voices were so good - and it will be very fine indeed to hear them all together again. Back in the day William and I used to dance to their tunes...Studio 54 included.

  4. In the famous words of Bernadette Basseniger-

"I've said it before, and I'll say it again: No more fucking ABBA!"

    1. The Bee Gees will probably be next who knows. I did enjoy their tunes in Saturday Night Fever.

I also hope you didn't loose any sleep last night dear, with what, your last visual of the day,lol

    2. There's hope for you yet, Maddie. I was sleeping very well, until that giant smurf started chasing me as I ran through a field of flowers. He was pelting me with nosegays. Coincedence? I don't think so!

    3. @maddie - 3 of the 4 bee gees are dead. there will be no reunion.

    4. @deedles - giant smurf...flowers...nosegays...WTF were you drinking last night?

    5. Anne Marie, I was wondering the same thing. What ever Deedles is drinking I want!!!! And after making the comment, it occurred to me they were all passed but one. Maybe they can do the hologram thing that ABBA will do!!!!

Now lets sing a rousing rendition of Waterloo!!!!!!!!!!!

    6. I was NOT drinking! I was high on endorphins after my son and granddaughters' visit. I did, however, see your (Maddie) nice picture in your smurf blue man panties holding a nosegay right before going to sleep. I will never allow myself to be hypnotized because I'm way too open to suggestion!
By the way, there were only three Bee Gees. Andy Gibb, tho a sibling, was an act all on his own. I seem to be at the age when I watch movies and television shows that I grew up with and point out who's dead now. I give myself the creeps :)

  6. I'm happy about this too! ABBA Forever!

  7. Darn! If I had known about the jumping thing I would have come down there! When traffic gets bad I just pop in an ABBA CD and I no longer wish there was a canon on my front hood.

  8. Whether you like them or not, everybody knows the words - that says something.

    1. That says everything, Mr P! Only the bands/artists who truly understood the nature of their craft can manage that degree of immediate collective recollection - a feat managed by very few in Abba's league, such as the Beatles, Queen, the Supremes, Chic, Elton John, the BeeGees or Madonna. Love them or hate them; you'll still know every word of most of their hit songs. Jx

  9. bestest of wishes to them!:-)

  10. I almost fainted when I heard that the members of ABBA are still alive! This is wonderful new! I was definitely an ABBA fan - but that was like 150 years ago in my flaming youth.
If ABBA has returned, there's hope for everyone!!!
    Except, perhaps, Elvis.

  11. Fantastic news, indeed! I'll go ahead and say (sing) it, because Maddie:

    You are the Dancing Queen!

  12. ABBA news doesn't do much for me, but I'm thrilled for you!

  14. Favorite song: Dancing Queen

  15. Ditto on the Abba songs. I too will now be forced to dig out my cd for a week of listening.

  16. My friend John-John is the ultimate ABBA fanatic, and has dancing round in sliver platform boots since the announcement! I rather liked Alex Petridis' comment on the matter in The Guardian : "If the new Abba songs are fantastic, there’s certainly a precedent. If they’re dreadful, well, there’s a precedent for that, too. Only if they’re mediocre will they come as a shock." Jx

  17. Can't get enuff of ABBA, which is not surprising as there's no such thing as TOO MUCH of them!

    ReplyDelete
  18. I was so surprised when I heard about this. I grew up with Abba - I still have a couple of albums from way back when. My favourite Abba song is The Day Before You Came - it's like a novel - and I really want to know what happened next, it's a pity songs don't have sequels!

  19. I'd say Steven was NOT lucky to not have told you in person. Anyway, I hope this ABBA return is not a mistake. I just listened to their greatest hits on my walk on the beach yesterday.
