Well dear readers, the Mistress was out and about last night at the first of three Christmas parties for the season, last night at my good friend, Bobby Eyeshadows. His home beautifully decked out, the house packed, and your Mistress enjoyed a few too many Holiday Mules. I had every intention to get up and decorate today, but said screw it, still a bit early for me. I'll do a bit each night, with the tree next weekend. Instead... with a slight hangover tiredness, I opted for gingerbread waffles with butter and some bacon, and enjoyed the usual suspects instead. Much more relaxing, don't you agree?
Bonnie and Clyde are ever consistent, with their visits. Although one of them is wondering why the Mistress isn't wearing a frock. Put some clothes on will ya? But went back to eating.
the Red-bellied showed up for the seeds and dried fruit bits.
The clowns of the crew...Black Capped Chickadees
The Nut Hatch, and the Junco's have returned. So cold weather must be coming soon if their back.
Beautiful cardinal in what's left of foliage.
Bouvier came for his daily hand out of nuts.
Right before sunset, caught this shot with the doves roosting.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends.....
at least the doves weren't laughing at the mistress' exposed nuts.
ReplyDelete"Instead... with a slight hangover tiredness" - just another day at the casa!
So lucky to have red cardinals. Remember them well when my folks lived in Baton Rouge. Noticed more gold finches at our feeders than I've ever seen before... what do they know that we don't know?.... xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteI only seem to get finches in numbers when it's cloudy or rainy...not sure why.
DeleteScrew it? Surely he had a name???
ReplyDeleteJP
Billy. or Bob..yes Bob. Or was it Ben? Oh who knows, it began with a B, and I had a good time.
DeleteAll these pics are wonderful. The cardinal in the foliage is stunning, and I love Bouvier!
ReplyDeleteI always love your bird shots.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful shot of the usual suspects. I still can't believe they feed from the sill.
ReplyDelete"enjoyed a few too many Holiday Mules" Was that the drink or code word for oral on a guy hung like a mule?
I haven't met a mule I didn't like yet.
DeleteI just wanna see the view that bird did
ReplyDeletedon't we all, honey! ;-)
DeleteOh, I always enjoy your bird posts. Upon you recommendations from another post on feed, we went and got some and now have some new visitors. Very nice pictures...the nuthatch and chickadees are my favorites. But the last shot steals the show....gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI was not expecting a bird and furry friends post on a December afternoon. I'm glad to see they're still around a little longer before the weather gets colder.
ReplyDeleteThose critters are here year long. My milkshake brings all the varmints to the yard.
DeleteNut Hutch? I have one of those... bought it at Dick's... keeps everything cozy.... wait, you did say hutch didn't you?
ReplyDeleteHutch, Hatch, it's all the same....just as long as your boys are warm and cozy...it's all that matters dear.
DeleteBut now we know what to get you for Christmas. A gft card for Dicks!
do they sell dicks at dick's (asking for a friend)?
DeleteOur Dick's is just a parking lot away from B.J.'s restaurant. Take a couple of hours, and a good time can be had by all.
DeleteWe can shop at ducks, and then go to bj's.....with lunch at the cock and bull.
DeleteBonnie and Clyde are still my favorite two visitors. And they must like what they see.
ReplyDeleteLove that last shot. Beautiful.
Ah, more bird porn, with a little furry thrown in for spice. Mistress Maddie, you are too creative for words. That last picture is purely magnificent! It emits such warmth, seeing it in person must've been an awe inspiring experience.
ReplyDeleteI think you made the right decision in doing this...much more relaxing. Gingerbread waffles?!? That sounds amazing!!!!!
ReplyDeleteWith Bouvier always looking for nuts, I'd be careful if I were you.
ReplyDeleteYou must be in heaven around there with all that bird.
ReplyDeleteTis the season for cocktails and wildlife.
ReplyDeleteAren't you glad the birds can't tell the world what they have seen?
ReplyDeleteMy reputation would be in shambles dear.
DeleteThat's a beautiful and colourful shot of the doves in the tree at the end! Not to mention the cardinal.
