I don't know how I missed this. WOW! It had me in tears, on the heels after watching Cissy Houston leaving behind her daughters casket. If only there were more on both sides with her view. Thank you Mrs Walsh. The Mistress doesn't usually cry, but she shed some tears today.
She's from the district just south of us. This is significant as we have a Cascade divide in our state. Blue on one side and red on the other side. She was the only representative to vote yes on our side of the mountains.
ReplyDeleteYou should be proud of her! I was very moved by her speech.
DeleteI agree, I wish there were more on both sides like this lady also, she should have gotten a standing ovation.
ReplyDeleteChristians aren't interested in their sins, They can pray those away. They're just interested in everybody else's sins. How else could they feel morally superior? very very inspirational speech, brought tears to my eyes. Love and tolerance, Ms. Walsh. ♥
ReplyDeleteoh my goodness, I'm trying not to sob after seeing that. What a remarkably heartfelt response to this whole thing, and I cannot begin to say how eloquently she put that. We have gay friends who live their and are so happy for them!
ReplyDeleteThe state of Washington should feel proud to have her as a leader! what an amazing leader. talk about courage and passion - well done!
ReplyDeleteBrava, Ms Walsh! *standing ovation*
ReplyDeleteBloody brilliant speech.Wish I could vote for this woman.
ReplyDeleteThe humanity and sensitivity revealed is just awesome.
It is so refreshing to see a Republican that can think independently, and not just part of the herd. She is awesome and I'd vote for her any day, and I'm a Democratic. Right on Rep. Welsh. We need more people like her in government on both sides.
ReplyDeleteI don't know many politicians for whom I'd like to meet and shake their hands, but she is definitely an exception. Bravo, Rep. Walsh, bravo!
ReplyDeleteI tried not to cry but the water works started in the final minute. Great speech.
ReplyDeleteShe's not a politician she's a decent human being!
ReplyDeleteBeautifully said! If someone doesn't get it after that, they just aren't going to....and if you are one of those people, stand in front of a mirror, and introduce yourself to a bigot.
ReplyDeleteSo eloquent and poignant, and filled with such emotion and humanity, what a wonderful speech.
ReplyDeleteShe's really something.
