At a time where the queer aesthetic is marketed and sold off like candy- only the fun, fluffy, sweet bits, peppering tv, film, and commercials, but only the parts that are palatable by a heteronormative audience. After having queer concepts in his scripts rejected time after time, David Wilson, the writer and creator, took Deep Clean, and its main drive to look square into the face of that appropriation, put a stake in the ground, and say "appropriate THIS." The video allowed himself and the film's star, co -creator Harry Clayton Wright, to be completely unrestricted in their output.
