IN THE GARDEN

The weekend wasn't a complete wash out. While we did have cool temps and rain yesterday, the sun did come out late in the day. I got my lamb ordered at the market for our Easter dinner next week and made a batch of hot crossed buns for breakfast yesterday. A very nice dinner out last night with the Capitol Street Duo as it also gave us time to plan a beach get away this summer, which at the rate I'm going, I'll be lucky to be around much. Luckily today was nice out, I had some time to do some more garden clean up, get some fresh air, and burn a bunch of fallen twigs and branches. I hadn't been out in a couple days this week, so I was amazed what has finally opened and is in bloom. The forsythias and hellebores never disappoint as early bloomers along with the grape and traditional hyacinths. Nothing says spring is here like the whiff of hyacinths. I suspect the tulips won't be far behind.

Smells heavenly indoors!

After a good day in the garden, I think we could use some Shirley Scott Trio to wind down to with a cock-a-tail for the weekend.
