MOOD BOARD

Nothing wrong with a bit of a lie in this Monday! With two weekends away from home and before the rest of the summer gets away from me with vacations, it's always a hard decision what Pride Events to attend, which I feel is very important to do. No way do I trust this administration or very crooked, bigoted and unstable SCOTUS. I know a few gay friends who don't see it, but when asked what have they done for the LGBTQ, they can offer no other reason than "well, we still have our rights." Yes... for NOW. But trust me, we are on the chopping block list yet. The poor souls have on blinders. This year I will be attending New York's Pride with the clan, and Rehoboth Beach Pride that will coincide with my first vacation. And then Harrisburg's Pride in July. Our blog correspondent --at Large, the Mahogany Empress reported in and said Philly most likely broke their Pride record with the most attendance yet, had a four-hour Pride Parade, which this year went from the Art Museum, down the Ben Franklin Parkway, then right down Broad Street to Old Town, ending at Impendence Hall. That is a long route. One highlight was the Philly born and Godmother of Soul herself, Patti Labelle, legendary drag queen in her own right, did a concert, and brough down the house with all the drag queens performing in the show on the main stage. Talk about a campy moment!! I can only imagine the excitement of that! Even my own little hamlet of New Hope had very nice Pride in May with one of the longest Pride Flags making it's appearance through town again. Some drone pictures included in this week's mood board.

Happy Gay Pride!

  2. Babes, many of *the gays* really don't care about anything or anybody but themselves and their bodies/parties/dick. Really.
Thank goodness they were not having that convo with me cause I would have slapped a bitch.
And I just did Milwaukee Pride and it was FAB. I'm also going to attend some Pride events in some small towns here in Illinois. The country LGBTQ people need us to show up and show support in small-town Pride events.

    XOXO

    1. Oh... not to worry, there is a reason they are nothing more then acquaintances to me. And when push comes to shove, they are the first to go running, instead of standing and fighting for rights!

  4. "Filthiest People"?! That's you, sweetie. Clink, clink!

Love the selection of pics - and yes, I read the rave reviews for Jinkx Monsoon as Judy. She's playing in Walthamstow (of all places; a bit out of the way for the usual Theatreland crowd), just a few miles from us, but the run is limited (it closes on 21st June) and we haven't even had a chance to look at booking tickets for the show, so most likely will miss it unless it gets a West End transfer... Jx

PS We've sorted our outfits for Pride in London on 4th July - can't wait!

    1. Her Judy is one of the uncanniness impersonations I have ever seen of Judy Garland. If the show comes here, I need to see it. I just adore Jinkx!!!!

And I always look forward to seeing what your Pride theme will be. Jock straps this year in all the Pride colors perhaps?

  6. Ok that last pic is sexy as hell!!! Happy Pride Indeed! Vibrant mood. And Carter Dane??? That man is just smoldering hot! I agree about Pride. Now is NOT the tie to turn your back, ignore it and sit home. Get out to Pride events. If we give up, we're done.

  7. Whatever those boys are having, I’ll have double. I’m imagining myself with you every step of the way during all those Pride events (well, not EVERY step of the way).

  9. I'm honored to be the official Correspondent at Large!!!!! It was off the hook this year with the Pride. The longest parade we've had yet, the Patti LaBelle performance was great with all the queens, and the whole thing colliding at Independence Hall where it all began? Who would have ever thought?!?! And the city was PACKED. A great time and no incidents from what I've heard.

  11. I do think too many people are complacent about the hard Fought for and Won Rights of many being precariously on the verge of being Lost again. I'm glad all the Pride Month Festivities are being so well attended, have the time of your Life my Friend.
