I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! I'm still out and about as the social whirlwind continues! I'm currently now with my second guest, Daddy Warbucks who is in town, but thought Id share some of the latest in New Hope. My good friends, the Capital Street Duo were in town, with R's mother also in tow. What a trip she was!!!! And she fit right in with us drunken messes! After there arrival and nibbles of coffee and Babka at the Casa, it was off to my fair hamlet of New Hope, which as regular readers will tell you is a lovely , bizarre and diverse little town. Think Twin Peaks meets AHS Coven meets Queer as Folk. Some of the sites.... There was the antique shops......
Creepy.......
fell in love with this bird cage!
The chimney spout. How cool would this be in a garden with a candle in it?
Came across this on the street......
On the other end of the spectrum was the Château.....
and this place has it all, from your vanilla needs all the way to any S&M, bondage, dollification, dress up, pony play, you name it!!!!!!
I was told my junk wouldn't fit these cages.
then there is......
This store definitely caters primarily to the Wiccan/Witchcraft community, but there is plenty there for everyone. They stock all sorts of supplies, books, jewelry, ritual items, candles, incense, hundreds of herbs for spells, etc. I could go on, but you get the picture, they carry everything a witch needs and are very knowledgeable and helpful. Pretty cool to see.
No black cats here: Morgana the cat is completely at home at Mystickal Tymes.
After all the shopping, and in between all the bar hopping ( what can I tell you, I was held at gun point) we had a lovely dinner at the tasty Zoubi...a great hidden gem in New Hope with an interior cafe lit courtyard.
If you're looking for a spot to take a date or good friends, the atmosphere at Zoubi will certainly impress. The inside is small and charming. The bar is small but accessible from both inside and out which is a cool touch and they make a great cocktail. The outside seating area is where you want to be on a nice day though. The patio is gorgeous, the stone walls along the perimeter have candles tucked into them and lanterns and strings of lights add a romantic touch to this outdoor oasis.
And be sure to request the handsome Peter...a cutie and very personable!
Next door is my favorite brunch place with the clan...Karla's
It was another fabulous, but hazy day with good friends in a fabulous river town. We came home well marinated.
