We certainly weren't in Kansas anymore Toto.
To tide one over, here are a few snaps taken while in Nairobi. It was yet another spectacular trip and a memorable one. I love taking vacations that are completely different locations then the previous destination, as in locale. I can plan trips to cities anytime, and that can get mundane for me. My bucket list is almost complete before I start my secondary bucket list. It makes four different continents now visited. It was relaxing, fascinating, educational and in my element with being outdoors and my love for animals...and I haven't watched or seen very little US news, and quite frankly don't miss it. I also had my first bath outdoors in a big cast iron tub! But this trip to Kenya was right up there for a once in a lifetime trip.
More coming soon!
Wow! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteI had wished some of my picture came out better, but in a moving vehicle it gets tricky. More to come though....
DeleteSpectacular is the word - I can only imagine the exotic scenery and wildlife. We've been to Egypt, which has its share of wild places (around the Nile) - but nothing like the African Savanna!! This is going to be a helluva travelogue to look forward to... Jx
ReplyDeleteDear, Egypt is on my list too. It's been talked about for possibly the next trip, or another Amsterdam visit...which has been too long.
DeleteYou need to go on a trip down the Nile. The holiday we took (before everything went belly up over there) was the best holiday I ever had, apart from trips to the Maldives.
DeleteThose pics are amazing.
ReplyDeleteVery nice! I don't have a bucket list, and never even thought of starting one.
ReplyDeleteUltra fabulous!
ReplyDeleteElephants, giraffes and parrots, oh my! Sure beats hell out of the snow drifts here, LOL!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'm glad I packed good. I was very worried. I was worried about the weather, but it was not all all hot there yet, mostly in the 70's and low 80's thus far, as they have not gotten too far into their hot temps yet for the season, but the nights were cold. Even as barren as the landscape could be it was truly spectacular. I can't even explain what went through me when the first elephants came into view.
DeleteHakuna Matata! A most exciting getaway.
ReplyDeleteWhoa
ReplyDeleteThis exceeds fabulosity at many levels!
Love this journey for you.
XOXO

This is going to be a Bucket list visit for sure someday I hope. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteYou got that right, not in Kansas anymore!!!!! Unbelievable! Look forward to all the post!
ReplyDeleteOMG!!!!! Stunning pictures and something I'll never see. I can't even imagine. And I get your feeling for a different location for vacationing each time. Experience it all while you can. We can do cities anytime. Im sure this must have been an extraordinary experience.
ReplyDeleteOne day. Look forward to more of your sure to be visual delightful posts.
ReplyDeleteThis has to be one of the best places in the universe. I have long wanted to go. I can just bet the post from this trip are going to be fun to see. Beautiful moments with beautiful creatures. I so happy you got to go see this and share it. Look forward to more.
ReplyDeleteMy trips to Africa especially the safari ones were top of my list. Can’t wait to see your photos. Also top of my list was a 10 week trip to India in 1992 but I think India has really changed since then. Iceland is interesting and so is the Arctic. My travel days are over and I never made it to the far east. My bucket list was longer and more expensive than my years able to actually go. Glad you are getting out there and doing it! Gigi
ReplyDeleteGigi...you need a travel blog to just regale your explorations. I know I would read!!! Iceland, Sweden and Egypt are still on my list. And your right, it does seem to get more expensive. All though, Portofino wasn't as bad as I thought it might be, and Budapest was downright affordable I thought. This trip was right between the one on the Orient Express to Viennia as far as expense.
DeleteWe did the Palace on Wheels trip in India while there and not too expensive at that time.. also went to the Maldives to scuba dive and to the Everest View hotel for a couple of days all on the same trip to India and Nepal. Everyday was an eye opening adventure..Gigi
DeleteAnd I forgot the elephant camp and the Pushcar camel fair in India.. India should be on your bucket list, so interesting every day.. we were two married women travelling without husbands and felt very safe. The Indian people were so friendly. Gigi
DeleteI admit...I have toyed with India. And I adore Indian men!!! And foods! Both of which I devour!😂😂😂
DeleteBeautiful shots 🧡!!!! I can't wait to see where these posts go! I can't even imagine being there. It must be SOOO different.
ReplyDeleteEvery image magnificent!!! To look out and see those sights!!! We all need to take in and go see such things...this is a huge world with many things to see. Thats what this post tells me.
ReplyDeleteYour right. I wasted too much time not traveling when I was in my 20s and early 30s. The US is cool....but to travel abroad really broadens your horizons.
DeleteThese are wonderful pics. I look forward to seeing more of them.
ReplyDeleteA bath out of doors in a big tub? Under the stars, maybe???
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI don’t know where my comments are disappearing to. But I said something like: Amazing trip. Can’t wait to see and read more. And you were tremendously missed.
ReplyDeleteFantastic! A vacation dedicated to relaxation is perfect, sweetpea! Lord knows we could all use one of those right now! xoxo (I'm baking a chocolate cake in your honor, sugar!)
ReplyDeleteWhat did I do to have that honor sweetie?
Delete*runs to grab a plate*
You came back, sugarpie! xoxo
DeleteWow!! I love Elephants. I look forward to more pics!
ReplyDeleteSx
Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteLooks more like Nebraska
ReplyDeleteWho are you? Ms. International Traveler! SO JELL. And can't wait to see more of your fab photos. I am not much of a travelogue kinda person. I tend to get caught up in where I am and forget the photos. Glad there are others to capture the memories. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteIm getting bad about that too. And I never include my pictures of selfies either. I want my post to be about the place....not me. Selfie people take so many and then eclipse the subject matter.
