MISTRESS'S COCK-A-TAIL CORNER

Last weekend found me at the Capital Street Duo's house for a lovely holiday party, where I met many  of their wonderful neighbors for the first time. It was a lovely evening. Just take a gndaer at his parlor would you?

And I'm happy and quite pleased I was not the one to fall off the bar stool for a change. Although, I did have to be escorted up to the Marie Antoinette Room, unzipped, and put to bed while the party still continued. The bartending half of the Duo, Russell introduced me to a new, and bound to go down as my new holiday beverage...The Holiday Mule!!!! I'm going to tell you all about them while I enjoy a few.

Now occasionally we find ourselves ill prepared for a impromptu holiday soiree. Well here's a quick and dirty recipe to please those unannounced holiday passer-bys. I had countless that night. You would have sworn Tallulah Bankhead could be heard saying, "Ill take another." and then disposing of the glass in the fireplace.  The ingredients are all very simple. Gin, lemon juice, pomegranate juice, or if you prefer, cranberry juice, and top if off with ginger beer.!!!!!

Well know, hiccup* you just find your lucky glass, you would always use, or the cooper mugs you're seeing everywhere. Mine just happens to be a old fish bowl Goldie used to swim in. Pour a healthy dose of gin......... You may have to test the gin several times first to make sure it's,  well, good and  chilled.  Then add a dash of the juice of choice, you know for a nice red color, a dash of lemon juice, and top off with the ginger beer, all over the ice. Then you may as well,  I say add some more gin in, because you have to warm the cockles of your heart. I like to keep my cockles nice and toasty. Then if you like you can garnish with a sprig of rosemary or a slice of orange in the bowl, I mean, glass.

Look how wonderful these look!!!!! I only advice is that when you entertain, do it yourself or hire full size servers. Years ago I had sampled to much gin and didn't notice when the servers showed up they were midgets. So, I just glued some trays to their heads and called them traveling cock-a-tail tables. They went everywhere with me for a year. Did I mention I prefer Hendricks or Blue Coat? Yes.
*Thanks for that reminder Ms.Moorecock.
So enjoy these bev erages and you'll enjoy the season ...trust me possums.
Happy Easter to you!!!!
"What Anita? Oh, it's Christmas you say?"
Oh , I mean Happy Holidaze to you all.

  9. I could probably use a few drinks thanks to my older sister. Does gin go with coffee? I'm asking because I'm drinking a lot of that while trying to get back to my normal routine.

How's your head, or are you not out of bed yet? Honestly the more I hear about your zip going up and down I think it might be easier to just button up instead?
