HAPPY HALLOWE'EN

Monsters, stalking through the night,
Halloween is the Night of Fright.
Fear is what this night brings,
Along with many other things.

Are you sure you are prepared?
Tonight is not for the easily scared.
Creatures from hell roam on this night,
For tonight is the Night of Fright.

Trick or treat you say,
You should not have waited until the end of the day.
Tonight you will lose your tricks and treats,
For the monsters need to eat.

You better not take this night lightly,
Or else you will truly learn what fright means.

In ancient times people feared this night,
The night they greeted with fright.
Why they were so scared you will soon see,
On this "All Hollows Eve."

Hope you all have a spook filled day of scares and fun!
Happy Hallow's to you all!

YOUR MISTRESS WIGS......

Wig's Out that is at the long awaited Wig Out Party in New Hope this weekend at the lovely venue of The Mansion Inn.

The town Grande Dame Miss Pumpkin  and I were asked to host the costume event with a 70's theme this year held at this long standing mansion, and it was the perfect venue with both floors opened for mingling and two different court yards outside. The event was sold out at $70 a pop, and raised almost $20,000 for the victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. The price also covered valet parking, an open bar and very cute waiters serving hors d'oeuvres all night. Our local, and very handsome DJ Armando, from the Raven was spinning great 70's tunes in the Blue Room, with exception to the number each of us queens was slated to perform. Yours truly did a rousing version of Madonna's Beautiful Stranger. After that... the Mistress started her gin laps, with no worries as the PR department had arranged a room for me at the Lodge right across from my ever faithful Raven Resort. Which was fitting since it has a retro 60/70's feel. My good friend, Tender was my transport. When she arrived we had a nip or two, and then had time for a small photo shoot for some of you who kindly asked.

Then it was off to the mansion for the wing ding. Where there was more photos.....

The National Enquirer is right. As one can see not only is Audrey alive and well in New Hope...so is Elvis.

Did I mention the Chippendales were there?

A good time had by all ,and after the party ended it rolled right on over to the  Raven, for some more dancing and debauchery. The rumors that it ended in the Mistress's room at the Lodge are greatly exaggerated. To my knowledge there was no game of keys in the fishbowl, a twister game half nude or a strobe light spinning all night with party goers and the said Chippendale's giving me piggy backs all night. I do know I felt like I was hit by a truck the next day though.
I swear the rumors aren't true dears. Do I look like I would withhold the dirty details to you all I ask?

BOO...IT'S MONDAY

Halloween might be the ‘fun-est’ holiday for kids and adults alike….great opportunity to play ‘dress-up’ …be BOLD and freak anyone out, just like jock strap night on Friday!Every year, I love handing out the candy to see the kids that come trick or treating, all 20 of them, fun to see their costumes, some not only cheap ones, but some are fun and BOO-tiful stylish costume! Our trick or treat is tonight in my town, just as well, as I had an exhausting weekend with two big back to back events. The Wig Out party and the Mistress were a huge hit, and the party raised almost $20,000 for the victims of the hurricanes... More later. Needless to say, it felt like I was hit by a truck come Sunday. Not even a gin and tonic last night.  A sobering thought I think… BOO!
Have a BOO-utiful Monday everybody!!!

CREATURES OF THE NIGHT

Two weeks ago you may remember I was over in Lambertville, the sister city to New Hope, on the House Tour. I decided to take pictures of a certain house I share every year and has become tradition on the blog here. Both of these towns are quite charming , but when it comes to Halloween, it's hard to beat the enthusiasm these two towns have, when it comes to decorating, and dressing up on Halloween itself. The Dogs Mother would be in her glory I tell ya!
But nobody walks past the 100 block of North Union Street this time of year without pausing, and usually stopping. For some time."The Halloween House," as it has become known, has a display of stylized hand-crafted figures that are dreamy, macabre and compelling enough to halt people in their tracks. People come far and wide just to see it. This year, I had ran into the lady who creates these creatures, and is she ever charming.Dolores Dragan told me she started creating the annual display of blacklight figures in 1998 when she was still teaching art at the Lambertville School. She continues to add a new one each year. Strangely life-like, she says many of the mythical creatures are based on the essence of people she knows.  Mrs. Dragan says she decided after teaching her new role would be that of a "memory maker"  She also said she thinks of it as donating memories every single year to children who come by here. She also gave me this link to a professionally-produced video. Some of the backstory of how she started this. Amazing.
I wonder what her little dog thinks of all this peeking out the window?

TRICK OR TREAT...

I have to tell ya, Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays at the Casa du Borghese. The weather is crisp, and people seem to let others get away with things they normally wouldn't.  And of course who doesn't like the candy??? Or the trick or treating as a kid? Well here at the Casa my houseboys have gotten into the spirit ....so to speak. What selection will you be enjoying on the glorious day, or will it be just a trick...or a treat? Must we really decide?

Decisions, decisions, decisions......
