Back at the Casa......

The Mistress is returned back to the Casa Du Borghese and her and staff had a very nice long weekend and was enjoyed by all! Her two male suitors J and Prince Charming got along as best as could,, but I ultimately spent much of the time with Prince Charming. J is alot to handle just by himself! There were two picnics to tend to, one with the family, and another with the gays! I also even went canoeing with several friends on the Lake Pincho just outside Harrisburg which is a huge lake. We paddled the whole lake and then a small cook out of the banks of the lake. Between the canoe paddling in the heat, and other activities the Mistress is quite wiped out and is thinking of retiring early tonight as I have some work travel this week, plus I leave for official vacation at the end of the week for 12 days!!!! Yes, I'll be off again! It is such fun to be off and about in the summer. I just hope I can handle a three day work week!!!! These boys are beginning to wear me out. I forgot how much energy it takes to be single! But hopefully Anderson Cooper will come for me soon. He is to be my next husband, he just doesn't know it yet. The Mistress Borghese Cooper. Hmmmmmmm....... Tootles!

Another Holiday-So Long,Farewell

Their was just a huge swirl of activity and goings on at the Casa du Borghese as the Mistress is departing for a very nice Memorial Weekend/mini vacation! She is leaving to visit the ancestral home for a couple of days, visit family and friends, attend two picnics, and thinking a couple days at the beach again. So in the car went the liqueur case and suitcases, the hat boxes, and the dog! Everything but a damn picnic basket! And this time of year who doesn't enjoy a good cook out and picnic. Of course, I like picnics because a love a nice full basket to take to the picnic. Like these.

Opps. Ahhhhh, yeah, how did that get in there? He,he,he! Oh how embarrassing. Anyway, while on vacation I am going to try and see if I can find something like any of these. My mother use to have a vintage picnic basket, but it got damaged one time when a pipe burst in her basement. So off to find one. But whatever I get it must match my traveling cock-a-tail case! I really love the first one or something like the ones in the second picture. The last one is very handsome too!

I also will be seeing some Prince Charming and J while home and we will most likely do a little club hopping. I just hope they get along. So It will be very nice to relax and breath a little. After returning, I'll be going to a couple different stores to do some work, and with the travel to and from It may be a week or two till I return. So say out of trouble and I'll be reading when I get a chance. And everybody-

Have a Happy Memorial Day Weekend!!!

The Grande Dame

Pepperica Swirl, The Empress of Caftans and Cocktails, (I knew the Mistress loved her for a reason) was born in a bathroom sink at Studio 54 to proud mother, Rhonda the coat check girl. Liza dropped her spoon, Andy Warhol flipped his wig, and Steve Rubell immediately put the tiny baby, Pepper, on the guest list. By the age of three, Pepper was disco dancing and performing in Parisian nightclubs with Grace Jones… Well, no, but seriously, Pepper made her debut in a small Greenwich Village theater as an usherette in All About Christmas Eve. By the beginning of this century, Pepper had gained fame as a DJ in downtown clubs, and in 2004 Pepperica Swirl joined the Imperial Court of New York. Pepperica Swirl is quick-witted with a strong sense of humor. You’ll find this Pepper at monthly ICNY meetings, running committees, selling tickets and making candidacy speeches. This Pepperica realizes she is not a real Princess, but that she is a party clown, doing important work for the community. You will find her in her studio or backstage at shows and events. She has a pocket full of safety pins and double-sided tape. She can pull you in, zip you up, and push you out on stage. Pepperica is a colorful belle with “all style, and no substance.” You’ll meet her at bar shows and many events. You will recognize her immediately by her long eyelashes and “slightly scaled up” hair. If you approach her, it’s best to have a smile in your heart and a song on your lips, because she likes to swirl around the room, hence her name, and get photographed crushing the competition with a smile. Oh yeah, she is also the new Empress of the Imperial Court on New York!!!

Take A Gander

Well, so far the work week has been very busy again, as I'm trying to get extra work done so I can enjoy my long five day weekend for the holiday. But I did get a little reward of sorts, in the form of a man. While walking Buster Bolfig tonight after work, I encountered a new neighbor. Micheal was his name. He was running, and stopped to see the pup. Very friendly and very nicely built, nice chest and six pack. Ohhhhhh dear.... it was all the Mistress could do not to stutter. After a few pleasantries were exchanged he said he would see me around. I ALWAYS have my camera, so I snapped a pic as he took off! And trust me the front was incredible!

When we walked back home we saw him at his house working on his car-still shirtless.
I have a feeling the making of a Devil Food Cake ;) is in the Mistress's future! Who doesn't like to receive a cake as a neighborly jester... along with a nice basket of goodies!!!! I'm so bad! Tootles!

Some Italiano and Gals About Town

A very happy Monday everybody! Does it seem like the weekend whiz by yet again? Everybody will be relieved to know that the Mistress took it easy, unlike last weekend. And the Mistress is also pleased to say that she has now started contributing some blogging on a joint venture with bloggers Kailyn and Fluffycat at our new blog, Gals About Town! It will mostly touch on all our outings, cultrual events we attend, and the drunken escapades we ensue!!! Well, I don't drink like the other two!!!! You'll have to check it out and let us know what you think. Anyho, unlike last weekend, this weekend I took it much easier. After a nice nature walk-a-about at the lake, it was time to go meet my dear friends from Harrisburg, the cute Capital Street Duo for dinner over near Malvern at Buca di Beppo. I was a little nervous since I'm not a huge fan of chain restaurants, or Italian food with tons of sauce is just not my first cuisine of choice. But I was very pleasantly surprised. Buca di Beppo is an authentic Italian restaurant that offers flavorful Italian dining. You can dine with family and friends while enjoying the Italian traditions of food, friendship and hospitality. In the spirit of Italian culture, the dishes are served family style and are meant to be shared. Most menu items are inspired by Northern and Southern Italian cuisine, so I went to par-take and indulge in the Buca experience of appetizers, salads, pastas, pizzas, entrees, desserts, beer and fine wine. Well, not all of these! And the interior was very interesting and festive. Love the tons of old vintage photos, as you may know, the Mistress loves herself some good vintage photos! And while we didn't dine in the circular Pope Room it was a cute idea. Although had we, I may have felt like the Pope would be trying to make a pass at me under the table!!!! I was a acolyte once you know.

Love the fun place mat and all the sayings!

We all started off with just a few cock-a-tails and appetizers. The duo went with a huge pizza for dinner with everything on it, and a order of Linguine Frutti di Mare, which contained Shrimp, baby clams, mussels and calamari tossed with their spicy red clam sauce and imported Italian linguine. I think going in I was going to get the Lasagna, which I was sort of getting a taste for anyhow. And it was nine towering layers of lasagna noodles stuffed with a savory combination of ricotta, mozzarella, provolone and Parmesan cheeses with plenty of chunky homemade meat sauce. I do love my cheeses! And we hardly even made a dent in it, after even sharing our meals. And lets not even get started on the bread. And our wait staff person Jen was a real hoot! Very personable and friendly and she even had our table ready when we got there with cock-a-tails already waiting for us!!! Now that's service. And she even said we were a bunch of good looking guys! I knew she had good taste from the get go!!!!

After dinner, the Dame Courtney surprised her man with a full size, multi-layered and colored cake for his birthday! Complete with a lit candelabra! It was a real nice buzzed dinner with good friends! I would most definitely go back to this location. And this is what I came home with even after we shared!!! Enough for at least three more meals for me. After eating all this delish Italian food, I better walk the trails of the Leona Canyon next time with Kailyn!!! Tootles.

This Made Me Wet Myself

To Ann Coulter, with love, the Mistress!

A Casual Sunday at the Casa du Borghese

The Mistress thought it to be neighborly and invite the women from the Alcoholics Anonymous chapter over for a few tarts for a casual Sunday at the Casa du Borghese, but before you knew it a few fell off the wagon and it got out of control!

And my newest houseboy already locked himself out! Poor thing.

The Eiffel Tower

The Eiffel Tower which is located on the Champ de Mars in Paris was built in 1889, it has become both a global icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world. The tower is the tallest building in Paris and the most-visited paid monument in the world. It has also been used in many a movie. I personally have always loved photography of the tower, morning ,noon and night shots, but I love even more when fashion is thrown in the mix. Here are some of my favorites. Love the way the softness of the clothes feels against the cold iron steel. Now I off to enjoy the beautiful weather we have finally gotten! Tootles!

Welcome to the Tea Party

Have a told you lately that I can't get enough of singer Kerli? I just adore this video. The fashion and artist touches are stunning! It is getting me pumped for the weekend. The Mistress is expecting friends to visit for the weekend. I haven't seen the Capital Street Duo in a while. Let's just hope it's not a repeat performance from last weekend!!! Have a wonderful weekend y'all! Tootles.

A Julianne Moore Moment

Boy, I tell ya, it has been a grueling work week so far. Between people getting catty and bitching, and the work load, they can all kiss my bubble butt! Why can't they all just be happy and enjoy life? They drive the Mistress to drink! So I think tonight I need to unwind like a scene from one of my favorite movies, A Single Man. Easily my all time favorite scene from a movie. Fashion designer Tom Ford gets it spectacularly right first time round in his directorial debut, A Single Man. This adaptation of the 1964 novel by Christopher Isherwood about a gay British college professor in LA coping with the death of his partner is both stylistically assured and quietly moving as it charts a day in a life that has been scooped out but also spiritualised by grief and loss. Julianne Moore is a worthy support to Colin Firth as a lonely, gin-tippling ( she is soooo the Mistress) woman who is still in love with her best friend, they had a brief sexual relationship many years before, and torn between sympathy for him and regret about what might have been if he hadn’t turned into a old pooof! Moore reminds me of myself when in drag with the fashion style and her hair! So I'm going to have some gin and dance to this scene tonight. That is what is needed, after all, don't we all need a moment like this? And how luxurious is that room!
