Monday again!!!!!
Well, here's is too being back to a regular work schedule again, after a huge refresh in the showroom. At the end of last week it felt like my body had been raped by five 6' 8" quarterbacks!!! This weekend found us at my uncles for one final sweep of the house to go through what he is taking to Ashville NC. Otherwise, time was spent doing a first clean up in the garden of dead blooms and such. It also occurred to me that today would have been my beloved maternal grandmothers 110th birthday today. I had forgotten her birthday was welcomed in by autumn. Now a lovely poem to start the week.
A couple days ago it was summer,
Now it is Fall,
I see the purple asters,
I hear the Autmn call.
I feel the warm sun shining,
A balmy south wind blows,
I see more flowers blooming,
And I see the grass still grows.
The goldenrod is waving,
the bees are in the clover,
I hear a distant honking-
The geese are flying over.
The nuts are growing rounder, and more heavy,
The cornstalk brown and sear,
By twenty lovely tokens,
I know Fall is here.
It was summer days ago,
Now today it is Fall,
Today I'm still bare foot and free,
Oh how I love it all.
Happy Monday...and here's to a pleasant week.
I like the Fall photos. Hopefully, we will begin to have that whiff of a cool breeze soon too.
ReplyDeleteOur temperatures have fallen quick already...but we have Indian Summer to look forward too still.
Delete"The nuts are growing rounder, and more heavy", indeed!
ReplyDeleteYou can post as many pics of chocolate cake and sexy men as you like - it still doesn't make Autumn any more appealing. It's "the season of death", and I hate it. Jx
I swear, we are gin blossom twins! I have long called it "the season of death" too.
DeleteI love that Grace Coddington quote; words to live by.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's true too. I never know what I will see next that will inspire me.
DeleteI wonder why those sheep look terrified? Wrong placement on this interesting mood board?
ReplyDeleteThey probably thought that thing was a branding iron, girl.
DeleteGrace Coddington? Icon.
ReplyDeleteAnd that lad seems quite inspired, Mads. Quite appropriate for Fall, I'd say...
XOXO
Gawd, now I want chocolate cake. It's your FOOD PORN that gets me every time.
ReplyDeleteDid you write the poem? I like it! This mood board is lovely and poignant as summer has given way to autumn. Nature starts to die and slow down.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
No....I came across some time ago and couldn't find a poet to it....but I liked it.
DeleteTundra Bunny here...
ReplyDeleteThat chocolate cake covered in chocolate ganache and luscious strawberries is making me salivate too, Maddie, but I know you're more likely to opt for the sausages, LOL!
Your right about that. Im by far a meat eater before I enjoy sweets.
DeleteI always love the meaty surprises you slip in.
ReplyDeleteOh I do that just to see if you guys are paying attention.
DeleteI always pay close attention to you!
DeleteOh, myyyyyyy....... The cake: The slice AND the whole. Then there's the sausage being formed and warmed. What more could you want for Fall?
ReplyDeleteThe countryside pictures are definitely autumn defined
ReplyDeleteSo much inspiration. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteLovely.
ReplyDeleteSome nice delicacies there, and just the food.
ReplyDeleteThat should be ",,, and NOT just the food.
DeleteAs Arby's says...WE HAVE THE MEATS!
DeleteSorry I missed this. I loved the pictures, and was one of those QBs Nick Foles?
ReplyDeleteOr as he was known in the Philly area and locker rooms...Big Dick Nick!!!!
DeleteAdore your many moods, my dear... especially those that come with panCAKES! Drizzle that buttah, honey!
ReplyDeleteI could watch that boys balls bounce all day!
ReplyDeleteYes, please! I'll have that first slice of chocolate cake!
ReplyDeleteNow, I need something to eat it off. Hmmm.... That platter barely wearing a suit ought to do it!
