It has been awhile since we have seen around my little pied de terre. Summer is one of my favorite times of year. Call me weird, but I absolutely love the hot humid weather. I think I have had my air on once so far, but my flat is completely surrounded by trees, which helps to keep it cool. Yesterday I captured these pictures of the hostas blooming, complete with bee, searching for nectar.
Inside, since I am a major beach baby, seashells abound. And yes, I do listen to the ocean in them!!! Who says birdcages are just for birds?
This new glass and iron compote was a steal on my last antiquing trip with the Dame Courtney. I thought it would be perfect to hold seashells, since there are two mermen on either side.....
My newest acquisition to my coffee table, Tomass Hawkke's Wildbush Trail. Tomass is a very good blogger pal and a incredible photographer and artist, and while I haven't met him, I just know he is a real sweetheart, sexy and very, very, talented. His work is just so fun, fresh, erotic, and breathtaking. You can find out and see more in the book and check out his talented works on his blog, Tomass Hawkke's Naked Nature. And he always answers back, which I love.
My apothecary jars I have, holding my immense collection of seashells... found ones, bought ones, and ones I have received....throw in some netting and your ready for the catch.......
In the bar in the kitchen, are two big shells under a bell jar....
Some of my gin collection.....
Another new piece to the eclectic stuff around here, this lit arrow marquee which I got at my friend Punk Rock's shop, God Save The Qweens.....
It points to the bar, although, the Lad thought it should point to my ass!!! He is so mature. Speaking of the Lad, he was taking a picture of my Pimms, when he noticed my gratuitous Calvin clad backside, working at the island, in the glass!!!!!!!!!
Behave!!!!! You know who you are!!!!! Carrying on, in the boudoir we find yet more shells, along with my chrome fan, WHICH I LOVE and use most nights with the windows open..... Not to be too tmi, but there is nothing like a good nude sleep, with the windows open wide and feeling that fan.
Two of my favorite clocks. The one I just had to have because of the little elephant on top of it.
Mirror, mirror one the wall, who is the biggest slut of all!!!! Magic has been known to happen right there on that sofa!!!!!!
And finally, probably my favorite print in the house...this Serengeti Print.....
I just love big huge elephants!!!! Ever since I rode once, I have been in love with them....so majestic. I also hope to go to the Serengeti one day. Well, I don't know about you, but I'm ready for a nice weekend....and a vacation. WHAT! Yes, I'm getting ready for trip two this week, in a couple days. What can I say....it's hell working almost three full weeks, I'm bushed. Now where is my cock-a-tail?
I figured the arrow pointed the way to the boudoir! ya know, in case a houseboy couldn't find it...
ReplyDeleteI spy with my little eye a bottle of bluecoat - GIMME!

ReplyDeleteI got my shopping list complete. I LL take the star, the arrow sign, that picture with the elephant and the very filled out basket!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteDoes this look like a yard sale to you? The basket could be negotiable for the right price.
DeleteYour right, but I'll still take the basket😈
Deletefirst hand experience?????

ReplyDeleteYou always seem to find the most unique items! I can see your design background. Perfect mix of old and new. Love the seashells too, bring the beach in. Some of those are HUGE!
ReplyDelete"he was taking a picture of my Pimms" Why did I think that was a nickname for your junk? The Casa is quite elegant while being comfy. And too think of the debauchery that goes on.......
ReplyDeleteWhat a magnificent place. Not to big, but you have done a great job. More elegant than my home!!!! The Lad is quite naughty...I love it. He is bringing out this side of you. Keep it up!

ReplyDeleteI like how he thinks most days too! Shall I get the north wing ready?
DeleteYou have one welcoming home, and there is nothing sexier than a guy in his Calvin's around the home, wink wink*
ReplyDeleteI'll admit when alone, I could live in Calvin's.
DeleteThat is a truly lovely home! Love everything about it. I like that you change things for the seasons. What a lovely appointed bar too. Now what to have. I would love to see more of the bar sometime
ReplyDeleteHmmmmmmm, that could be a fun post!
Deleteooh your home looks so lovely and calm – I want a vacation weekend there ! I always love what you do with your apothecary jars. And is that a picture of Betty Page in the kitchen?
ReplyDeleteYes. I bought that ink picture from my co worker who had his first art show some time ago. It was calling my name.
DeleteYour hostas haven't been shredded by slugs and snails?!
ReplyDelete::seethes with envy::
I have to tell you, I don't see snails or slugs here much. I don't care where they have gone either. My white hostas are coming in soon too. Shall I send you some?
DeleteLoves all the shells!!
ReplyDeleteIs it me or are your Calvin's really straining in front? I could use your help here, Being gay, you'd think my house would be more stylist but still looks like a frat pad. HELP!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteyes, they are stretching. just a bit! You should have him there....he's good!
DeleteWell throw in a frat party and you'll see some real straining!!!!
DeleteIt's straining trust me. Once in Ptown I saw it fall out of trunks. Its a beauty all right.
DeleteI had the feeling there lied a very nice piece. That is a rather sexy shot.
DeletePlease, do not egg him on.
DeleteStraining? DAMN that boy is stacked!
DeleteGorgeous! The earth and neutral tones is a perfect anchor and accent throughout which I love. The use of shells really adds a nice touch for summer, and don't mind seeing you in your unders...it's rather cute.
ReplyDeleteSleeping naked? No... none of us would never do such a thing. #sarcasm
ReplyDeleteI love what you did with the place!
Thank you tootes! Now what can I get for you?
DeleteAfter sleeping naked he often forgets to dress when retrieving the milk.
DeleteJust goes to show that collecting and being true to one color scheme can pay off and develop a good habit. I will have to check out Mr Hawkke's book...looks enticing. Very nice post as always
ReplyDeleteYour place is so young and always looks fresh. And any underwear shots are always welcomed! I love that arrow sign too cool.
ReplyDeleteALL GORGEOUS darling. I remember you saying you did interior design, do you still do interior design? Now how about a drink from the bar
ReplyDeleteI do still do Interiors, but only on a free lance basis.
DeleteOh Mistress, what a post to return on. We got back from Antigua on Friday, and I see I have much reading to do!!!!! I am glad a caught you before you are leaving again. What a great post…I adore getting a peek into the homes of bloggers and others. Love the huge mirror and the others too too…I share your obsession! The wrought iron compote is so handsome. I can see why your so comfy there. That bee searching for nectar is also neat. Now more reading.......
ReplyDeleteAntigua!!!! Oh how I would love to her about the trip, you've been gone to long. The other resident hen Anne Marie has been nothing but a hand full.
DeleteYou are the sweetheart, Maddie, and so generous with your praise.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the tour of your warm and wonderful home. With all your creations and collections to explore, is there ever time to sample all the gins?
