MONDAY TRAVELS

Last week I was trying to wrap up and finalize my summer travel plans already. but as usual Miss Moorecock was more concerned with the houseboys jumblies on her desk, and my personal assistant Buster Bolfig was all thumbs. As many regular visitors know I get scarce in the summer. But this is Monday alas...and we know I dislike Mondays...but in the mind we can travel and escape those dread things. Lets capture the spirit of travel… There’s a good reason many of us take MAPS with us when we travel...relying on them as the journey begins. Maps can guide and ‘transport’ us - Maps help us 'connect' to others… engenders a desire to see a new place, or to travel simply for the joy of the journey.. Who knows where this blog will all take us... lord knows.... you and me should just continue to travel this journey… shall we? Life is afterall a series of ‘maps’…maps of life? Where oh where do we land???

No denying....we have a lovely, diverse planet.
Where shall we settle?

  1. Somerset looks like my kind of place to move to.

    1. Please....while I have never met the Mistress,Amsterdam barely bounced back from his visit here with just him.... let alone two of you at the same time!!!!!!

  3. Lake Como - maybe to run into George.

Amsterdam to experience the red Light District.

Stay away from Moscow - or anything like it. The more they turn back toward suppression, the more awful it gets.

    Other wise, enjoy!

  4. Moscow looks surprisingly bohemian in that picture, but looks can be deceiving.

  7. I'm settling in the mud, being the stick that I am :)
I'm going to disappear from commenting for awhile, precious. Doom and gloom are settling in so I'm going dark until they go away. Just a heads up because I think you worried last time.

  8. I've been to Japan and can tell you it is stunning. However, Paris will always have my heart... except for those damn cobblestones.

  13. William and I have been to quite a few of these places...what stunning photographs. I have to say Lake Geneva was one of my favorite places to go. I'd love to muster the balls to go to South America like you did. I would love to see Argentina and Brazil..but at this age....

    1. If I wanted to see big bulges and definitions, not to mention a large crack and shaft, I'd go to the Grand Canyon.

  17. Every place pictured is fantastic and worth the visit! But I also share the No Go sentiments on Moscow--at this time, it's not a safe nor welcoming place for minorities or Americans. You wouldn't want to risk being detained by the KGB and having electrical shocks applied to your testicles...unless you're into that kind of thing. But I'm sure you can find similar service in Philly...

I prefer tropical beaches and wild places along with historic cities and artistic places as vacation destinations. Those that serve umbrella drinks are a pleasant and delightful bonus!

    1. Electric shock to the ball!?!?!? Talk about fried green tomatoes. I dated a guy from Russia once....his family urged him to not come back. I put him up for a while ,no pun intended. Till he found a permanent situation.
