MEANWHILE AT THE CASA

Do you ever enjoy those Calgon moments when you have them to yourself? The Mistress was invite to go to dinner, but blew it off.... after the last couple weeks of coming out of hibernation with a bang, no pun intended, I needed a weekend to myself and some peace and quite. With exemption to a little shopping after work on Friday, it's the first weekend to myself and I didn't even step foot out of the Casa du Borghese all weekend, except to take a walk on the grounds. It was heavenly.

Nice to have not to get dressed. I stayed nice and comfy all weekend.
Tended to my only orchid still living.

Or just get a artificial orchid like this one in the boudoir.

I love me some peacock feathers. You know in Greek mythology it is believed that Hera placed these "eyes" on the bird's tail feathers to keep on eye on Zeus's philandering.  I feel I need these to keep a watchful eye on me whilst I sleep.

Finally got around to trying my newest cereal. It was very good.

I also got around to framing a picture of my grandfather. It was taken I believe at a fair right before he met my grandmother. I love this picture.
Brought in some nature and color.

When picking flowers, I saw two new suspects.  I think this couple...I've dubbed Oliver and Olivia have started nesting by the tow path. I hope they are aware of Foxy.
I rearranged some brick and brack. I brought this red earthenware vase to my living room again. It was given to me by a dear, late friend, Andromeda Strain. He was older then me, and was my work assistant at a pass job. We became fast friends, I could have listened to his stories for days of his shenanigans in his young gay years. And I in turn, taught and showed him the latest in the new gay world. It was a win-win. His father had been a state senator and was famous for knocking out a very long in office incumbent, Harvey Taylor. His family was also related to the Eisenhower's. He would tell me stories of the farm they had in Gettysburg when they visited, which is where the vase came from.. One year for my birthday he gave it to me as a gift, which I treasure, when he was moving and downsized. Every time I see the vase I still think of good times with him.
The bar is open!!!!

The gin delivery was this week.

These two cardinals must be courting. I later saw the male feeding the female seeds. I have never seen that before.

I organized a drawer of ditties.

This was the view I got first thing upon coming into the living room today. Bonnie giving me the moon.
Otherwise I did much of nothing and lounged like a lady of leisure popping coconut chocolate covered maroons down my gaulet, and cat napping.

So there was that.

  1. what amazes me, is for someone who rarely wears underwear in warmer months, you have plenty.

    1. Maybe it's because the colder months are becoming longer.

    2. Maybe it's that darn underwear fetish?

  2. I also enjoy a good tour of you place, whether it's in or out of your drawers.!!!! It's always comfy looking. And we all need those weekends.

  3. Ooooh you are so talented, your place is gorgeous! Yes the picture of your grandfather is cool. Sometimes when I am at auctions, peacock tail feathers go for a higher price than the actual bird. Everyone can relax... they shed their feathers every year, they don't die for decorations. Finally... stop it! Just stop it! You in your shorts is like showing us a picture of chocolate cake and say, "mmm, look how good this is but you can't have any"! Just plain mean! ;)

    1. Sooo-etc, first, if you've ever lived near peacocks (you may have, I dunno) during mating season you would wish that they would drop dead for their art! Loud, horny mollywhoppers!
Secondly, if some one is giving you a neener neener, you jump 'em and take that cake, dammit! Sorry, peacock flashbacks are making me violent.
To tell you the truth, I was noticing his chest and shoulders moreso than his shorts area. I never noticed how nice they are before.

    3. @ Deddles and Steven- you two may make me blush!!! I have tons of peacock feathers...enough for each room. There is a manor house up the road that has peacocks. Once in a great while they get and tour and I have heard the screeching. It is LOUD! It is also interesting Deedles eyes went above the waist while Steven's went below, brwhahahahaha!!!!!!!

*makes mental note on jacoby's comment*

    1. With exception to my walk, it really was relaxing...I could use another. Hell I was even nude for half a day today. And to think...yesterday was Naked Gardening Day. Now THAT would have gotten looks from the neighborhood bitches.

    2. Nude for half a day, huh? So did you post pictures of that? Noooo! Poor Steven will be so disappointed! You not only took the cake, but grabbed the ice cream as well! Those are lovely pictures, though.

  7. Mistress, I too always enjoy a good tour around the Casa. Can one blame you for not wanting to leave for a weekend to themselves here. I love the story of that vase, and yet another reason to love these posts..everything seems to have a story behind it. The picture of your grandfather - a treasure for sure...and he was handsome...must run in the family.

    Now enjoy those maroons.

  12. Thank you for the fascinating and exciting open house/internet tour of your chateau!

I love the framed foto of your grandfather. It's so whimsical and charming and fun, lively and spectacular and festive, like a Georges Méliès film!

The flowers are gorgeous--the real and the fake! I can only grow fake ones. I am the Grim Reaper of plants. I can hear weeds scream in terror when I walk by...It is music to my ears...or a sign that I may have a psychological issue...

The vase is beautiful, and the story about how you were gifted it from a wonderful friend makes it special and exquisite. A very resplendent work of art, a gift from the heart!

Love the bar! That bird sassing you is just asking for spanking! Is the bird asking you to choke the chicken? Perhaps all the lovebirds is bringing out the sauciness in that cheeky chick!

I hope the two geese survive the fox. But mated pairs can be mean, aggressive, and territorial. You may need to wear a cup and jeans if strolling near their nest site--and a pair of large dogs to scare them off should those psychotic geese come after you.

The cookies and cereal look delicious! I would've added them cookies to the cereal and pig out!

    Have a great week!

    1. Thank you Eros. Would you believe that bar I found at a antique market, already refinished and the lady was selling it for $195! Soon as I saw it, I knew I had to have it for a bar. Being in a small pied de terre, pieces with extra storage are a must. So this doubled as a bar, and the drawers below hold my tea towels, napkins, cook books, and vases for cut flowers.

And yes...that was one cheeky chick!!! I too am not good with indoor plants for some reason. I have one orchid left and an African Violet. We shall see how they do.

  14. That's an awesome photo of your grandfather! Makes me think of that old movie "Paper Moon."

  15. What a warming post. I always enjoy these.

And agree that mooning dove is being quite saucy.

I also think it's great you take the time to befriend gay guys older then you....we can learn a lot from them, and many of the younger generation doesn't take the time to talk and get to know them. Love that story.

  16. Ahhh... your apartment is such a cozy spot...
just comfortable! You definitely have the talent and the eye.

Worry not about the fox...geese get bat shit crazy when they nest.

  17. Home at last! Sometimes that is the best recipe...rest,relax and than show us more of that amazing bod!!!!

I sure wish I got half your talent to decorate my place. A gay gene indeed.

  19. I always look forward to "house tours" as we should be calling them. I love what you've done for the recent decorations.

  20. According to your shorts, it must be 7:00 clock?

  21. Strong shoulders, nice chest, hairy legs, small waist, nice huh, basket. How you eat and enjoy what you do is beyond me. I look at food and gain weight. But your place is very welcoming. Yes. You had me distracted you see.

  22. Good for you darling, although your idea of "doing nothing" exhausts me just reading it. I would count organizing a drawer as a major event requiring at least a nap. And put some gin in it.

  23. Also, your grandfather was quite a tasty bit. It can be difficult judging how attractive people were when they are dressed and kitted out in another period, but that thick hair and (especially) those beautiful lips of his transcends fashion.
