A MOMENT

On Sunday I mentioned I was up at the lake doing my run and shared some pictures. Recently with the trail being repaved, they too have added benches to relax, many benches in memory of someone. I was half way around when I decided to take a seat and sit a spell. It wasn't till I got up and I saw my beach was in memory of the above Eric, someone whom I knew, our paths crossed for a time, but had no idea he had passed, and way to early. I won't divulge details, but he was a real sweet man and compassionate man.
I never had a moment like this before. And why that bench?

  4. It's eerie when that happens, isn't it. I had a similar experience a couple of years ago. Back in my hometown, I sat on a bench and then discovered it was dedicated to a deceased woman I had known in high school. I hadn't known she'd died relatively young of cancer.

  5. Meant to be. Sorry for your loss.

Years ago, in California I was thumbing through the Sunday paper and passed through the obituaries and saw the name of my best friend from childhood who had passed away. We lost touch after high school, and here, a decade pater, I stumbled across his name.
I think it's the universe reminding us of who we were, are, and will be.

  6. Oh, life works in mysterious ways. Coincidence? Fate? I dunno. Interesting when it happens. Hold it close and learn what you can from it. Interesting. Sorry for the loss. But he lived in you as a memory... and you still have that. Hugs, dear one.

  11. Serendipity? Fate? Who knows.
What matters is that you thought of him. And you thought of him as sweet and compassionate. Bet he would have liked being remembered like that.

    XOXO

  12. You were meant to know my Friend, some might call it Divine Coincidence. There have been times when I've suddenly had someone on my Mind and then find out they have either had a crisis or passed without me actually consciously knowing, yet, just suddenly coming to Mind is the eerie part that I can't just write off as not being significant in some mysterious way I'll never quite understand. I'm so sorry this Young Man you knew prematurely left this Realm, he has a Kind face and was quite Handsome. Your Memories of him, and the Memories of him others Share, will keep him Alive in this Realm. Energy never actually Dies, it just changes Form.

  18. (((hugs)))

I'm sorry to hear this happened. I had something similar at work when I was working in customer service about nine years ago trying to hang onto my job. I had an agent call in to service a policy, and it was for the mother of a childhood friend. It was from looking at that account I found out the father and my friend both passed.

Hopefully, you're getting closure from this.
