Grid your loins......
Anyone who has been a regular reader here for years will tell you, I'm obsessed with Vanessa Williams. I dare say she is the most beautiful, stunning woman in entertainment. Anyone who can come back after her Playboy scandal and tell the Miss America Pageant system they can take their crown and shove it, and go on to have one hell of a huge, successful career, is ok in my book. She can do no wrong. Now she is poised to take on the role of the queen of fashion Miranda Priestly in London's West End stage adaption of The Devil Wears Prada, the new musical based on the book and movie, with original score by none other than Elton John, this fall, before it starts to travel. I'd say the role is tailored made for Ms. Williams, from her plum role of the delicious Wilhelmina Slater on one of what was probably one of my favorite shows ever, Ugly Betty. But ohhhh happy day.... she is here tonight with her newest song....LEGS!
Damn girl...work it but don't wreak it.
And honey, if your reading...I'm gonna need that fabu headpiece.
I have always loved her for her beauty, strength, resilience and talent.
ReplyDeleteAnd love her LEGS!
A beautiful person inside and out!
DeleteTalk about a revenge story!!!!! I love this....Ms. Vanessa is epic , and I too love her. She may be my all time favorite entertainer. Love her on Queen of the Universe. And Ugly Betty? She smashed it.
ReplyDeleteI love her repore on there with Trixie and the other judge.
DeleteOh I KNOW you love her!
ReplyDeleteVanessa... still beautiful and still fabulous! And still a beautiful soul.
She is amazing! So beautiful! So talented! Love her!
ReplyDeleteBeauty, brains and stunning soul! LOVE HER, always have.
ReplyDeleteDear Madonna,
THIS is how you do your 60's.
I have been a longtime fan! Great to see her with new music and I would love to see her in the Devil Wears Prada musical.
ReplyDeleteShe is a stunning creature! How does one not love Vanessa Williams??? Love this new song. I had no idea about the Devil Wears Prada either. She is a shoe in!
ReplyDeleteThe Miss America pageant organization thought they would ruin her by taking her crown away, but she is the baddest, most beautiful, ICONIC, Ms. America... and FOREVER WILL BE. Fun video she still has it and looks incredible.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...I know you love her. I enjoyed this!
ReplyDeleteOne of The most beautiful women ever. And she’s been killing the game. Sing, dance and act on top of all that class and ridiculous gorgeousness! This woman has made my heart flutter since day one. And kudo to her. I saw in a recent interview she likes aging gracefully...no plastic surgery, no filler and no silicone. My word, a celebrity who wants to look like themself!?!?! This is how you do it.
Mama is 61 and looks DAMN GOOD! She has always made me happy, and love that she had Michael Urie in the limo with her. Nice touch Ms Williams!
ReplyDeleteShe is amazing! I hope to be that sassy at 61!!! And have legs like that.
ReplyDeleteShe’s got it all. And what power to shine after a “scandal” that was supposed to destroy her future.
ReplyDeleteLooking for cheap seats to London this fall?
ReplyDelete😲 Well, how cool is that?
ReplyDeleteLove her!
ReplyDeleteStunning and an ally? And you are right, most people would have just withered and retired from public life after a scandal like that, but she did not. Love that journey.
XOXO
I've always been a big fan!
DeleteOh for a body like that!
ReplyDeleteWhat I most admire about her is she didn't hang her head in shame back in the Miss America scandal but stood up and showed them and made herself a success. All the 'nice winners' are long forgotten.
ReplyDeleteA real success story.
DeleteI remember having a crush on her when I was young, and I didn't think it was possible to be even more beautiful than that until I see her now. Good Lord!
ReplyDeleteShe is just spectacular, and I love her even more for her not buying into the cosmetics procedures, and for wanting to look like herself. Refreshing and to me is more classy and dignified.
DeleteWhat a great video! She is gorgeous. I never saw the pictures in Playboy but I bet she was beautiful sans clothing. The pageant circuit is full of assholes.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
The straight and gay pageant circuit is full of assholes!!!!
DeleteWhen I first saw this, I thought that that drag queen looks just like Vanessa Williams! I guess I'm used to that in these here parts. Remember, I thought that retired mannequin was a real person. I probably need a CAT scan.
ReplyDeleteShe is absolutely gorgeous. Always has been, always will be.
Deedles, I recall that comment about the mannequin and it still makes me laugh just as hard.
DeleteSome 35 years after the crown was taken from her, she was asked, much to her surprise, to be a judge on a Miss America pageant. She got a bigger surprise when the man in charge of the pageant came up on stage and restored her crown.
ReplyDeleteI hadn't knew about any of that!
DeleteComme in dit en français,
ReplyDeleteune femme formidable !
-Beau Mec
She is gorgeous and a force of Nature, a Timeless Beauty and quite a Talent.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I know about her is she had a hit here 32 years ago in 1992 with Save the Best for Last.
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard any of the music from The Devil Wears Prada - the musical yet, so not sure whether we will be booking tickets for it or not. We've never bothered with either of his big hit shows The Lion King or Billy Elliott... Jx
Oh, I had no idea, hon. Adore this lady. She slays and continues to do so. She has been concentrating on acting a lot... and I adore when she pops up in a cameo role in something - because she brings that special combination of fire and ice that she trademarked and owns. Thanks for highlighting her and this vid, which I fell in love with the day it came out. She also has a vid she does with two drag queens... Trixie Mattel and Lion Babe. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteOh yes...I've seen it!!!!!!!!
DeleteI have always loved her. And after what was done to her by that beauty pageant, she survived and she thrived. I love survivors. Did I ever told you that a stranger said I look like her? Of course not, because it never happened. But I adore her.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how anyone can escape the charms of such a beautiful and wonderful woman.
