IT WAS A BLONDE MOMENT

Well, I guess I will have to spill the beans since some comments since last post. Yes, it tis true the Mistress had a wee mishap with said brand new car of a month. But contrary to what Miss Moorecock says, it wasn't due to a soak in the gin bath, the distraction of a hot guy (although that has happened), or being reckless in the seat with a guy. No, it was a pure blond moment. I had gone to my Mother's last weekend to decorate her house, yes, another one, in addition to the other four. Houses that is, not mothers. On Sunday, she went to go out to the store early, so woke me up, so I could move my car in her driveway since I was blocking her. So I moved my car, and off she went. Once gone, I started to back into the driveway. Once backed in, I pulled further back. When I looked back, I thought I had more room than I did. But when I approached the fence and meant to hit the brake, I accidently floored the gas, and off she ripped, laying rubber, and the car took out the fence, and the gate, and sent her trashcans and recycling across the yard!!!!!! I found myself in the back yard sitting, all the while a Chopin symphony was playing on the radio. Fortunately, there was no structural or operational damage, all cosmetic. But my mother's fence and my backside seen better days. When she got back, we both ended up getting a good chuckle, as she now calls me her 85 year old!!!!!! Meanwhile, my handsome insurance agent has already had the fence repaired, and I will have my new car back Monday already with a new bumper!!!! I was very impressed with the service I got from my insurance and agent. It was after all a bit embarrassing.
Oh....won't old age be grand.

  1. Well these things happen. The Engineer wants a new ladder. All I can remember was when he fell off the old ladder. I told him buy a new one, never use it and have the boys do stuff when they are home. Also our next house will be one story. That *should* keep him out of trouble....

  2. Dog's Mother is right. These things happen. GETTING OLD? Please come talk to me when you total your car by hitting a tree in your yard, or wearing your under foundations on the outside, or calling pets by those that are deceased. Then we'll talk old.

  3. This is proof we must be related somehow. I can do anything with a car except parallel park one.

  6. Glad you're alright!
Soon you'll be in a public place on your way to the powder room, end up in a kitchen or office, and forget what you were looking for and why you're there...

  7. My Rare One once backed her car out of the garage without opening the garage door. These things happen as one gets older! I didn't dare laugh then at her and I don't dare laugh now at you. I know my time is coming.
