LAST OF THE SUMMER WINE

You thought this was going to be a post about the BBC show I bet? Well you won't see Nora Batty being pursued by Compo, or the antics of Clegg or Foggy. Nope. More about seasonal changes. These brilliant tea roses were saved from the garden and just in time!!! This weekend the fall temperatures really set in, and we had our first frost, not to mention some cold damp rain and some pretty high winds. So these blooms were rescued........

This weekend I finally broke down and went shoe shopping. I love shopping for clothing, but shoes....despise it. I found three pairs and these are one of the gems I got, a bourbon colored pair of brogues...... the weekend also brought about sweater weather........

And these bad boys had better last awhile.......

and speaking of sweaters, I started to get them unpacked out of winter storage....... I love me some sweaters and this was just one box........

Yes, the Mistress is anal...and they will be placed on the shelves in the closet by stacks of color!!!!!

With high winds I had to remove the finch bags for they kept falling, so I put there thistle on the sill with the other seed. Low and behold, the golden finch landed and fed right there!!!! Finch don't usually feed on the ground or out of feeders. And as you can see, they have loss their yellow color.

meanwhile in the boudoir window, Bonnie was taking refuge from the high winds with the gargoyle statue that guards away evil spirits.......

With the cooler temps, the white wines and Pimm's now take a backseat to the body warmers of  bourbon, St Germain, and Ginger Liqueur........

Tonight, after a walk I also made my first pot of warmed spiced cider..........

I say bring on winter....although, no big hurry. I think I have all my warming comforts in place.

Hope you all had a great weekend!Tootles!!!!!

  2. Mine was blustery and cooler than normal. But I like that kind of weather since it means I can wear boots!

I also have one more day off before I get back to work.
