A FRIDAY IN AUTUMN

There was a real nice chill in the air today. This marks a three day weekend for me as I was off today, using some of my comp days before I loose them. After going to market,  and the hooch shop to stock up on my red wines, I decided to take a nice brisk walk around the little hamlet........

Bouvier making his way to get his daily nuts.......

One of the covered bridges on way to the Casa du Borghese, but no worries.....there is no headless horsemen!!!!

Walking around the grounds and stream here on the grounds.....

Neighborhood churches..... I haven't been inside them, that's why there still standing.

Upon our walk back, I was greeted to a special afternoon treat. A view of the elusive red fox that I have mentioned before. I have never seen him in the afternoon before, only very late at night, but there he was.... at the woods edge!!!!!! Oh, how I wish they were domestic animals like dogs. I'd have one in a minute!!!!

Cheers to autumn, Mr Fox and everybody for having a nice weekend!!!

  2. Foxes are cool. Did you see the video of that one in Canada that played with a dog toy on someone's front lawn? Adorable!

    1. I will have to seek it out. Maybe I'll leave Busters' extra toys outside and see what happens.

  3. Loverly tour. One of my good friends moved with CO, foothills around Denver and sees foxes from time to time. One night a fox was calling to her kits and scared the beegeebus out of their cats.

  4. What a nice day off. I don't know what is do if I came across a fox here. It definitely has gotten chilly, time to load the bed up with the warm linens.

  6. An enjoyable stroll, Maddie; you live in a lovely spot.

You've got a lot more leaves on your trees than here. We've had a kiss of winter, but back to autumn this week, according to the forecast.

  8. So stunning, my house is surrounded by squirrels and foxes but I can never get a pic of them, they are too quick for me, my dream is to tame a squirrel, could you imagine a chum coming for nuts everyday - maybe you could.

    1. Tabs, funny you should mention the squirrel. I LOVE them. Bouvier, yes I named him, does indeed come every morning for nuts or peanuts. I have watched him and he lives in the big maple outside my kitchen window. He lately has been lining it with fresh fallen leaves. And it has been AGES for me a get a picture of the fox, they are indeed fast!!!!! The one moment this summer that was special was when I was enjoying my wine one night, he ran to where I sat, dead stopped, and we sat and stared at each other for the longest time....ill never forget that.

  9. What a lovely stroll and pictures. I love all the little critters but they are indeed too fast to catch a shot of sometimes. And I'm glad that others can appreciate and enjoy old buildings as well. :)

  10. The fox is so chic, as long as it stays away from anywhere in your wardrobe Crullia.

  12. That is quite an amazing fall post! Love the picture of the fox. That's one thing I miss from living where I did in Virginia years ago.
