Grande Dame of the Week......

/>Lypsinka! Lypsinka is the Grande Dame this week. John Epperson was born and raised in the south in Hazlehurst,Mississippi.In 1978 John Epperson,who performs as Lypsinka,moved to New York and started doing drag there, where he performed in the now closed Club 57 and the Pyramid club. As an actor,drag artist as he calls himself,and a pianist he left to perform full time as Lypsinka all across the country. His schick is for impersonating Joan Crawford. John performs a show about Joan Crawford that is called"The Passion of the Crawford". You can read about it at www.lypsinka.com. He also performed at the annual Wigstock in New York City every Labor Day and also has several movies under his belt. His acts are phenomenal,as he usually lip-synchs to recorded voices,but has sung with his own voice in shows including the Rodgers and Hammerstein's "Cinderella" at the Lincoln Center and also in his autobiographical show John Epperson,"Show Trash" If this elegant diva visits your neighborhood go see her. You won't be disappointed!!!
