It'd been a relaxing weekend. No plans for once other than a farmer market visit yesterday. Also watching movies. I was also outside to see a new visitor to the garden. Referenced my field guide to see we have a pair of Northern Mockingbirds! I'll be interested to see if they stick around.
And today finally....... the Snow Queen ascends the throne.....
What lovely winter shots! Thank you for sharing them.
ReplyDeleteI was overjoyed by the snow!
DeleteLordy! That's winter, alright...
ReplyDeleteI hate snow. It looks lovely out of the window, but when it comes to going out in it? On the whole, I'd rather be in Spain!. Jx
Tell me about it. I have to forgo my heels in leu of wellies for work! Tis rather pretty to see out the window though, and the air smells so fresh.
DeleteLove to see the pictures from your yard, even if it is snow! I've never seen a Northern Mockingbird before!
ReplyDeleteI've got a severe weather advisory for 20-25mph wind chill coming in from midnight tonight (Sun) to 8am tomorrow. So grateful we have MLK off for school and my son and I won't have to worry about getting off to school tomorrow morning! Whew!
This is the most snow we've gotten in one dump since maybe two years ago. What a difference one day can make in pictures.
DeleteYou've got a lot of snow! Stay warm!
ReplyDeleteWe were to get 3"6', but my measure gauge said 9".
DeleteLove looking at the snow ... from inside a warm house where pot roast is cooking!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it smelled heavenly too, let me till you.
DeleteThe snow is pretty. I want photos of you in your mourning wear tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Screw him...I won't make an effort for him.
DeleteWill you make an effort for the rest of us? We'd love pictures.
DeleteWe've just got rid of snow. We had 5 inches, nothing like the snow of my younger days. Five feet wasn't unusual. And we still had to go to school!
ReplyDeleteI love to see it but I'm scared of breaking a leg these days.
I have never seen a mocking bird. They are very elegant. Take care. X
When I saw them on Saturday I was overjoyed, but didn't know what they were. I best keep my shinney objects hidden from them. They are also not fazed by humans getting close, so I was able to get some better pictures. Thank heaven for my field guide to birds.
DeleteIt was - 45 Celsius here today with the windchill. Maybe sharing our polar vortex with you might help Hell freeze over in Washington tomorrow... you're welcome!
ReplyDeleteDoes cow shit freeze?
DeleteIt sure does, Maddie! Frozen horse turds make great hockey pucks, LOL!
DeleteIn that case tell them to open wide and Ill hit the puck in!!!!!
DeleteWhat beautiful pictures!!!!! We got a dust here at the shore, you got more far. And the mockingbird! I don't think I have ever seen one. They are quite pretty if a bit menacing looking.
ReplyDeleteI'll be awaiting you to Share your Black Ensemble and Veils Today my Friend. Winter Scenes, Feathered Friends and Pot Roast are a welcome distraction from what else is going on in The Wild of DC. I will no longer be watching the News... and will more strongly be Channeling my Morticia...
ReplyDeleteMe too dear!
DeleteJimmy Buffett had a song about a snow queen, the refrain was "why don't we just get drunk and ____!" There is more than one way to stay warm on a winter day.
ReplyDeleteYour randy today toots!
DeleteNo snow here luckily; the weather has warmed up a bit now, but the birds are eating enough food to feed most of London.
ReplyDeleteI hope all your birds survive the cold spell. Lovely pics, m'dear!

-20 this morning with -35 windchill. I feel for all the outdoor creatures. Winter is rarely fun.
ReplyDeleteMaybe we should strip and rub our bodies together for warmth???
