Thank you for focusing on the positivity of the day and not the negativity that is also happening. The difference between the two men of the day is unmeasurable. Along with MLK Jr. I had a dream, but that dream was shattered on November 5th when a convicted felon was handed the keys to the country. Today he sits in the driver's seat and takes us on an uncertain journey to an unforeseeable future. Cue Margo Channing
Last week when I was looking at the calendar it dawned on me then that Martin Luther King Day and the inauguration we're going to coincide. And I thought .. boy of all days for his inauguration.
We're joining the media blackout today. TVs on but none tuned to any news station. Winter is here. Now we must focus and enjoin the fight. We must celebrate those who have been there before us.
Sadly, love ain't going to cure the illnesses that will be caused by Donald Duck and the Muskrat. If the world is still standing upright after the next four years it will be bloody amazing.
The Democrats should have planned a last day in the White House party for President Biden and a big birthday celebration for MLK and his legacy to overshadow the felon and his grift. We of good conscience will have to resist the next four years and become pro-active for the sake of our country. In 2026 will be the midterm elections, an opportunity to change the treacherous course that the Republicans have placed our ship of state on. We must take it from the brink and set it back on a steady course that benefits all, not the grifter few. Eventually Democrats must gain back the Senate and the House and put the brakes on the Republican agenda of fascoid control, grift and hopelessness. -Rj
I don't know. The democrats are going to have to regroup big time.....and next time in keep more of the campaign promises. I know many who just didn't vote because minimum wage never happened abortion of her qualified and a list of other things. Not to mention some of the Democratic Party is getting too far left right. And they need to work with progresses more. I was surprised at the level of Democrats that actually pushed Trump's nominations through for different departments. In my opinion the old Democratic and Republican parties are never going to come back.
Boy are we on the same wavelength today. I think it's up to people like us to keep democracy going. The way we live our lives is going to matter more than ever now.
And let's just hope at the end of the four years that coffin is not 9 ft under and a cemetery plot. Democrats better start now who they are going to put up for president next. Cuz we saw how the Harris thing went.
I agree! A wonderful mood board as always! It's hard not to let it get me down sometimes that after so many amazing words spoken by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and others that could have put us on a path of unity and peace gets overshadowed by the all-consuming greed of capitalism by a few key men.
All I can say, again...is that I hope supporters and voters feel the back stab from him when everything goes to hell. Then we can say, We told you dumbshits so." Eben then when they are broken, broke, and have their life turned upside down... I STILL think they will be blinded bastards. Do they even have two brain cells to rub together? He got their votes...so now he and the party won't give two shits about anyone...for example they say they protect and honor law enforcement....yet he pardoned every Jan 6 insurrectionist. If I'm in law enforcement or a police officer, I would be furious right now and felt backstabbed and sold out. But even they don't see it. The mind boogles.
Excellent thought for the day mistress! Excellent message, and even Bernice King urged Americans not to "retreat or recoil" following Trump's election win... or he's really won his message of hate.
Boy I sure hope you haven't been frozen to death yet? If you need me to send some house please up to warm the cockles, let me know it's only a Skip Hop and jump.
And so it begins.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Mistress.

DeleteHappy MLK, babes.
ReplyDeleteLet's hope that Mango Mussolini's reign lasts one Scaramucci. I am not dedicating one thought to him today.
XOXO

This is the perfect antidote to yesterday's (2025) horror show - and, boy, does the world need it!
ReplyDeleteThe axe started falling already Raybeard....his tearing apart of the country has started.
DeleteI know I am in a different country, but it affects us all. Hang on in there.

I think your right....the whole world is going to feel this. Sadly.
DeleteKeep the faith, make our lights shine bright.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Marlene... in mourning. What an odd day that was... MLK and the polar opposite.
ReplyDeleteTo me, there was only one holiday.
DeleteBeautifully put together. Nice to be reminded of greatness.
