I'm happy to report the Mistress is back from a lovely jaunt from P-town after a week and it was wonderful to see the town empty... and just locals now. And it was brisk! But still, very relaxing to be near the ocean and hear it at night. A nice time to relax before heading back to work, and decorating some of my clients homes. This has been most definitely a different way for me to spend November, compared to years past, with nutty working hours and the hub bub of getting the department store ready the last 16 years. This week and next have always been my favorite weeks of November, and upon getting back from Ptown, the temps are much more cooler then when I left. It will be nice to be working at the floral shop, with normal hours, and not fighting and dealing with shoppers for the holidays or any of that Black Friday non sense. Plus Thanksgiving is my second favorite holiday, and this year I'm cooking the whole dinner, and have already began planning the dinner and market lists, and the most important thing...the bird is ordered!!!! Get the stretchy pants ready!!!!!
It is hard to think of any place as 'empty' anymore. What few places I've been to recently have been full up - either on a plane or in traffic or at a resort - you get it.
ReplyDeleteI would love to visit a place 'empty'
It was empty. I have only seen Ptown during the summer...so it is a ghost town compared to that. The locals are happy again.
DeleteGorgeous architecture, autumn colours and totty - but what's the connection with Roz Russell? Jx
ReplyDeleteShe makes me happy! And she's vibrant like autumn foliage.
DeleteFyi....the scenic pictures are from one of my favorite Instagram's...a couple from the UK...which is where those are from.
DeleteAll your favourite things, amirite?
ReplyDeleteYou know me so well.
DeleteI didn't know they made stretchy pants for two.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fascinating mood board! I love your current banner picture too, very funny! I really want to visit that Haunted Bookstore! Have a peaceful rest of the week! I dread this time of year. I get really busy and at this point in my life, my birthday has become barely more than a date on the calendar by which I should ship all the presents out. At least there's cake. Its not all bad. :)
ReplyDeleteDid somebody mention cake?
DeleteBeware of the cake at the Informaniac dear Proxima.....
DeleteMame, dahling! Adore. Thanks for making me smile. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteOhhh Auntie Mame! Yes!
ReplyDeleteAnd I'd love to go to Ptown in the down season. I just watched American Horror Story and it looks lovely in the winter.
Love the mood board. Going to Thanksgiving dinner with some family and I'm still a little weary.
Glad you're back, though...
XOXO
It was interesting to hear Pearly and the locals talk about the filming that took place. I would have loved to have seen Finn Whitrock in the dick dock and had a cocktail with the fabulous Francis Connroy. I recognized a lot of town when I viewed the season.
DeleteI love Rosalind Russell. Auntie Mame herself! I know you follow Mame's philosophy. I'm glad you're feeling good. I have most of what I need to cook Thanksgiving dinner. Sweet Cheeks will have to let me out of bed if he wants to eat that day. We will definitely need stretch pants afterwards.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
My ultimate role model Janie!!!
Deletethe big question is how cold was the dick dock?
ReplyDeleteWell...if your wondering if I suck my tongue to a cold pole...I didn't.
DeleteWhat I love about this board is that if Auntie Mame were a bird, those two you featured would be her for sure! Stunning birds and to think of the variety of them. But the other pictures are perfect for this overcast Monday. Very November. I hope you'll sure some Ptown snippets.
ReplyDeleteI did take some snaps toots!
DeleteVery nice mood inspiring mood board. The man in the grey jeans was just more stirring. Man is he sexy.
ReplyDeleteI love me a ginger.
DeleteGreat mood board! Your trip sounds like it was a good one.
ReplyDeleteNow if I could rive that car above on those streets looking for the bookshop with the handsome man in the jeans in the seat next to me, that would make my week even more nice. Im looking forward to Thanksgiving too.
Fabulous mood board!
ReplyDeleteYour stretchy pants comment made me laugh....
I particularly like the bird with the orange crest. How amazing is nature?
Glad you don't have to fight the black Friday zombies off. Enjoy the beautiful flowers instead. X
This will be a lovely Black Friday. It's amazing the birds that populate the earth...just so many varieties.
DeleteAnd yes....bring on the stretchy pants.
Everyone should do a holiday season in retail, once was enough for me
ReplyDeletePure hell...and I didn't have to deal with the public.
DeleteLove Mame; she's a Mood board unto herself!
ReplyDeleteThat first bird looked like a Bird of Paradise in full courting display.
ReplyDeleteAs for tourists; you should be so lucky to have downtime now. I remember 50 years ago going into the centre of Oxford (about 100 yards from where we were living then, near the Tolkien pub) on Boxing Day (26th December) and finding town full of Japanese tourists.
And was that a Morgan in British racing green I spied up there? I always wanted one of those until I grew up.
That Morgan is stunning isn't it? I too would not have a problem with driving one...Id feel like Creulla driving it.
DeleteAnd before you know it, it’ll be time to “bring out the holly!”
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a great time in Ptown. Get your apron ready for thanksgiving and have a great week!
I did have a nice time...even enjoyed some sprig and berries.
DeleteOh do telllllll!
DeleteThe Mood Board was Lovely to behold. Glad your Trip went well and it is always better when mostly Locals are present and not all the Touristy Crowds. The busyness of the Holidays I kind of enjoy, after Two Years of Pandemic I just needed things to seem more normalized again. I'm adjusting to The Young Prince and his Partner living with us, I forgot about the complexities of the Relationship when someone isn't always stabilized. It goes well until it doesn't. Plus I forget about addressing my Grandson the way requested as "they" and "them" rather than he and him... it's a transition for me and I'm not trying to be offensive or hurtful, I just find myself viewing them as my GrandSON still, if that makes sense?
ReplyDeleteMakes sense to me. It's a learning curve for everybody Dawn...and Im sure you grandson know his grammy loves and adores him. Enjoy your time with them...they are adorable.
DeleteI'm glad you're back!
ReplyDelete💋💋💋
DeleteI love this mood board. It definitely brings autumn home. I'd love to visit P-Town someday, but I hate flying.
ReplyDeleteI love flying...as long as the flight isn't to obscenely long...and i hate layovers....give me direct flights.
DeleteThis whole post couldn't scream you more to a tee!!!! Put me in a nice mood. Gotta love fall.
ReplyDeleteI've been really enjoying the fall colors this season. Thanks for the welcome back!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Mistress! Your mood boards always improve my mood, as does Rosalind Russell as Mame!
ReplyDeleteThis make me wish sometimes we lived in the northeast.
ReplyDeletePtown is already more boring since you left, so these pictures brightened the day.
ReplyDeleteyou can see why I love so much Autumn: the immense palette of colours!
ReplyDeletePretty! And obviously very stylish.
ReplyDeleteSx
I love the new life you’re leading. What a change for you to be out of that old retail mode and into something much more elevating during the holidays. I worked one year at Macy’s Herald Square during the Christmas rush. It can sure make you hate mankind. As for Thanksgiving, are those two half-naked guys going to be at the table? If so, can I come ... I mean join you?
