BRILLIANT HOLIDAY AT BERGDORF'S

Every year, if you head to New York to see the magical windows, you will know, that every year, hands down, Bergdorf Goodman, the tony Manhattan retailer renowned for its stunning window displays, has and will once again, have outdone itself. This year,  a wash in more than seven million Swarovski crystals, Bergdorf’s 2015 holiday windows along Fifth Avenue celebrate Swarovski’s 120th anniversary and the release of a lavish monograph from Rizzoli documenting the company’s history and its far-flung collaborations in fashion, jewelry, performance, and design.
The theme for the window spectacle, appropriately, is “Brilliant Holiday.” One vitrine, titled “The Crown Jewels,” boasts crystal-bedecked suits of armor and life-size lions within a massive red-velvet–lined jewel box. In “The Treasure Chest,” a monumental sculpture of Neptune enrobed in Swarovski pearls presides over a pelagic fantasy so alluring that no mermaid—even Disney’s Ariel—would ever consider abandoning the deep. Mind blowing knowing it's all crystals!!!!

Even the windows across the street at the Men's Store are pretty fun, and worth a look.
Once inside, Bergdorf Goodman spares no decadence. This gem of a store has got to be the most opulent of any department store. I am always very impressed with the store's elegance, cleanliness, and the service they deliver. I think I may want to move in. Has anyone ever lived in a department store before??????

  1. I wouldn't mind hanging out at the Copper Cabin; the fellows look like they could use a little help with their wood.

    1. Last year Amanda, we actually got a personal tour by there stylist, where they start the planning the day after the current windows are installed. So after these windows premiered, they were already planning for next year.

  18. Bergdorfs never ceases to amaze me with their creative windows, even during the year. But the crystals are quite amazing this year. I have shopped Bergdorf Goodman since 1981, and the same lady still waits on me.
