FEELING WARM AND FUZZY

And for once it isn't the gin!!!
Over the weekend when I was out and about I took a few snaps of the towns finery. The recent heat wave has made walking around Philadelphia and New Hope and Lambertville much more enjoyable than usual this December. It has also made photographing the holiday decor a lot easier without frozen finger!  But truth be told I'd like it a bit colder.

Love Park

City Hall tree

Ice skating at City Hall. Those chillers have to be working over time!!!

The incredible tree at the old Wanamaker's Department Store on the organ balcony.

Also seen in the Wanamaker Building....

Meanwhile in New Hope and Lambertville, it was more quaint then ever..... and very nice and peaceful.
My favorite cheese shop. Loved those animals and trees in the window.

Two very fun shop windows of a New Hope clothier. These were made entirely out of that folding crepe paper. Do they remind you of something Lady Gaga may wear????
Someone even lit this cute tree that was located along the canal. We sat and just looked at this tree for 45 minutes. It was just so calm.

The New Hope/Ivyland Train Station looked most festive. The very old vintage rail cars still run between New Hope and Ivyland, for the purpose of tours. It's quite a good time. The train was leaving before a snapped this. The cars are all antique elegant, were serving drinks, and passing out candy to the kiddies from Santa and Mrs. Claus.

Who in hell said you can't be a kid again?

  1. Like the ice skates. In Canada we flooded the playground and had ice skating and hockey so it was a bit dangerous at times...

  12. All nice pictures, but the tree pictures are my favorite...very calming and old fashioned looking. And those figurines in the cheese shop window are cute.

  17. Great post! Love that your took the time to venture out and see the best the season has to offer. Every year I still go to see Wanamaker's. I hate Macy's but I must see the tradition of their tree and light show. But nothing prettier that New Hope.
