COOL WINTER'S TOUCH

Gargoyle Cat on my lovely kitchen window sill, you know, to keep a watchful eye over the Casa and ward off evil spirits.... almost buried.

Today was a beautiful snow day for many here, and I know coming off the holiday and festivities it was a surprise treat for a three day weekend, but truly enjoyed myself with much needed R&R.

So, like a fool , I do get crazy at times, decided to go out and frolic in the powder and for today's walk I was layered up to the gills, and Buster was chomping at the bit to get out , as he LOVES THE SNOW!

Then it was off for a winter's walk....

the courtyard here....

getting ready to get wiley in the snow....

...and bolts....

...tries to write his name in the snow, to no avail.
*buster says he is appalled I included this snapshot*

Buster with his tongue out trying to get snowflakes. As Lucy Van Pelt would say, "January snowflakes are best."

Something very tranquil about snow covered pine trees. Some nice shots along the path on the grounds, very The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe......

Buster loves going in under the pine trees.....

and then the snow fell...not happy....

Walking back to the Casa I noticed these freezing gems, and lots of them, in a white birch.......

Did the Mistress have to many hot toddies before the walk?!?!?

or are these indeed , yes, are these ........ ROBINS!!! Punxsutawney Phil hasn't even been about yet.

It was very odd indeed, and I have never seen so many at once and this time of year??? Mother Nature is confusing us all...

came across these wonderful winter berries........

A perfect treatment for atop the bar, since the Christmas finery left....clean and simple!!! And I just thawing out me hands and feet, among other things.

Hope everyone is ready for a restful+cozy weekend? Tootles!

  8. Mistress! You certainly live the life, don't you? I only work blocks from work so I had to go in, and hated going out in that COLD! My day wasn't nearly as interesting or pretty. Lovely pictures

    1. I must admit it was sooooo nice to stay in a warm bed, and not in the 5:30am cold, cutting air to warm the coach up!

  9. I don't know whether to be more shocked by you knowing Lucy's last name as Van Pelt or those robins!!!!!! Those winter berries look so sharp in that urn. I can never think of stuff like that to do.

  16. The snow is pretty here, but after the first full day, it needs to melt, can't stand dirty snow. You two make the day look fun, great shots! The berries look right at home!

  17. It's gotten cold here, but no snow yet. I wish it would. If it's gonna be cold, it might as well snow. Love the touch of the berries, they seem to compliment your color scheme! Wonderful pictures

  19. interesting that you should mention robins.....
in the past two weeks, our friendly neighborhood hawk has
ripped apart two robins in our backyard- all in plain sight.

    ah, nature.
