I'm am delighted. Another 7" of snow early Sunday morning and an excuse for another winter walk for some pictures....I love me some winter, and the beauty of it, as it cleans the world in white again. Cold nights and pale moons. Let's keep it winter for some time shall we? It always reminds me of my favorite story of Narnia. "The Queen of Narnia, though she has no right to be queen at all...And she can turn people into stone and do all kinds of horrible things. And she has made a magic so that it is always winter in Narnia- always winter, frigid, but it never gets to Christmas. And she drives about on a sledge, drawn by reindeer, with her wand in her hand and a crown on her head."
Enjoy your winter wonderland while it lasts!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful. It is. But very happy I no longer live in that climate. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteSpectacular photos - gorgeous glimpses of winter. We have more ice than snow, only got three inches Sunday morning.
ReplyDeleteThanks Jon! You and I should do a book of nature shots!
DeleteI'd be delighted, too! 😛 Look at those beautiful photos... 💜 Love me some snow in my life! 🤍
ReplyDeleteI bet you make a nice snow angel!
DeleteI expected to see Mr Tumnus at any moment! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteIf this snow storm didn't look like Narnia, I don't know what did. I have that book in hardbound...it's beautiful! One of my favorite stories Christina.
Deletewe got 3" yesterday; snow plow guy came by at 4p to do his thing. nice to see vixen out and about. I like the cardinal pix the best.
ReplyDeleteA flurry of bird activity here today. I even saw some bluebirds, not to be confused with the jays.
DeleteGorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! (I had to steal the lamppost.)
ReplyDeleteSteal it!!! That was taken right near the property line and the church next door.
DeleteIt's wintry here too. I am definitely not a "cold weather queen", and can't wait for Spring! Jx
ReplyDeleteDon't get me wrong, I'm by no means a huge fan of winter, Im a hot house flower myself, but can enjoy it's beauty.
DeleteIt's breathtakingly beautiful! Great photos and video. We're HOPING to experience some of that ourselves in Northern Norway this Christmas!
ReplyDeleteWon't it be nice to travel again one day? My one friend wants to go back to Amsterdam to celebrate, but I want to explore other cities first before going back there just yet. To many things to see to keep revisiting the same place.
DeleteStunning pictures, as always. We awoke this morning to cold, but no gray and no drizzles, just some brilliant blue skies!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures....but I put my coat on to view them.
ReplyDeletecan I download these photos for wallpaper please?
ReplyDeleteSOY-atinly !!!!
DeleteSaid in my best Curly voice.
thank you you are a dear!
DeleteWonderful pictures!
ReplyDeletestay warm and cozy, xoxo :-)
It's nicest to look at your photos of snow, rather than suffer it in reality. We woke to a dusting of snow this morning which has pretty much gone now; just as well as otherwise my snowdrops, cyclamen and Scilla tuberganiana would have been covered up.
ReplyDeleteThese are the first significant snow falls in three years here Helen. It's been relatively quiet that last few years.
DeleteBeautiful photos, as per usual. You have such a good eye, dear. The cardinal shot alone... gorge. Stay warm. We are in deep, deep freeze here. Causing all sorts of issues. Hugs. Kizzes.
ReplyDeleteIts nice and sunny here today, but chilled. Im hearing yet again maybe a few minor snows later in the week.
DeleteWow, your snow was thick and hung on the branches, ours was fine and drifty.
ReplyDeleteThats what my mother said Dave. This snow clung even more then the one last week. My neighbors dog has a field day. Buster did too.
DeleteWe've got the same sort of fine and drifty snow as Dave R - and we're forcast to have it until the end of the week! It's already causing chaos after only a day as it blows off the fields and blocks the roads. Ah, well, could be worse - we might not be in lockdown and all have to actually go to work ;)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, your photos make it magical!
Well luckily as the Empress said, one plus to not working right now...no worry about getting to work or risk of an accident. But I guess I could have the houseboys piggy back me.
DeleteIt's cooooold and snowy here! But not near as lovely as your views!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you plan photos or what, but they are so pretty. I often like your details. Stay warm! I'm sure you've had some hot toddys?
ReplyDeleteWOW! You make this old man almost love snow and winter. Those are some great pictures. I very "hugging" snow I see. Narnia is a very good comparison. I favorite picture is the tree with a little junco sitting in it?
ReplyDeleteIt is a junco!!
DeleteIts been white and frosty in my postcode. Blooming awful really! But we're used to it here. Did you do a polar bear challenge yet in the lake Mistress?
ReplyDeleteNo, but I am dying to do some "tomass hawke" shots in the snow.
DeleteI will be 50 in May, and I still cannot pass a wardrobe without checking inside for a hidden gate way in the back to Narnia. There is a LOT to hate about snow and cold, but there is also a beauty to it that you can't appreciate without experiencing it. While I dream about warmer sunnier times, I can't imagine never experiencing a first snowfall of the season or white Christmas again.

I agree about the snow and Christmas. I remember when I was little, it was very rare to not have a white Christmas...it wasn't till more currently because of climate change that some winters, we don't even get snow.
DeleteI love these pictures and the feeling but I love winter. I'm a skier.
ReplyDeleteI also noticed in the one picture binoculars? Are they for viewing birds or your hot lumbersexual neighbor??!?!?!?! hmmmm????
Yes they are binoculars, but I would NEVER!!!!!!!
DeleteI use to cross country ski! No downhill for me.
cold, cold, cold! But I still love your pics. It's one thing right now to be not working. I don't have to go out right now if I don't want to.
ReplyDeleteSo very cold!
ReplyDeleteI love the snow but I don't like that it's snowed so much that I have to go out and shovel the end of the driveway. It gets too high when the trucks clean the road and my car cannot go over it!
XOXO
See, I don't have to clean snow, otherwise it may be a different story. And lumbersexual even cleaned off my car for me, the dear. I will have to see that I thank him!
DeleteIt's so pretty when it's untouched. And I love snow on tree branches!!
ReplyDeleteNo one made a remark about a fresh 7 inches bringing happiness?
ReplyDeleteProbably because it's a given anymore.lol.lol.lol
DeleteYour snow is beautiful and very Narnia-ish, especially the lamp post. You just need a lion and a wardrobe . . .
ReplyDeleteLove,
Janie
Well i have one of those two......
DeleteI have a wardrobe in my bedroom. I'd rather have a lion.
DeleteWinter isn't so pretty in Devon! It just means frozen mud. No snow here.
ReplyDeleteSx
Have you thought of joining a woman's mud wrestling team Scarlet?
DeleteSnow can often be so photogenic it almost makes up for the discomfort that comes from being in it. Almost.
ReplyDeleteIf I'm not driving in it...then a don't mind it. Otherwise .......
DeleteI love how everything looks so calm and peaceful after a snow. Then I have to go out and shovel! But it is a good way to get some exercise 😎
ReplyDeleteLuckily with the association fee i need not solve.... And Mr Lumbersexual cleaned off my car for me!!!!!
DeleteThose pictures are pretty, and I'd be happy to get 7" too.
ReplyDelete..absolutely exceptional set of images + the video too!!! Small wonder you received so many comments!!!
