Well, it looks as if another summer has come and gone.
As some of you may be well aware, summer is the Mistress's favorite season. Less layers of clothes, the warmth of the sun, balmy hot nights, being out of doors, glamping, open windows at night, the smell of the sea, and those fun filled pool days at the Raven. This summer for me was one of the best ever...hell, I had off all summer and I got to go to Argentina.....finally. While autumn is a beautiful season at least here on the East Coast with the soon to be explosion of color, I can't help but get a bit sad to see summer go....I always do, especially when the darkness comes earlier and earlier. Here are some pictures from summer from Rehoboth Beach, Fire Island, Provincetown and the Raven I never really got to post as we hail out my Summertime Sadness.
As is tradition.....I think Lana Del Rey sums up my thoughts the best, in our closing out of summer song.....
I'm sorry to see Summer end. For me, it might be temporary. I hear we're getting Fall weather for the next few days, but it will be back in the 80s again next week.
ReplyDeleteI am always sad when the season ends. Now I will be counting the days til next year. Wouldn't it be great if we could chase Summer all year long? Or, had enough money to live where it's always Summer?
ReplyDeleteHugs!
that lobster pot restaurant looks dee-lish; where is that located? and I'd like to make friends with THAT bartender!
ReplyDeleteWell, the Lobster Pot is in Ptown and that fine, FINE ass of the bartender can be seen at Aqua in Rehoboth.
DeleteThere is a bittersweet melancholy that lingers at the end of summer - - but the warm memories will help get us through winter. Maybe....
ReplyDeleteThe photos are all intriguing.
AND - how did you ever know??? I LOVE Lana Del Rey and "Summertime Sadness"!
LOVE Lana Del Rey. Her music is simple lovely lyrics set to beautifully relaxing, haunting music while sounding elegant.
DeleteFor a number of reasons, I envy that queen in that third picture from the top.
ReplyDeleteThat s Junk! She is rather lucky........
DeleteSummer ending here meaning, we hope, a stop to all the smoke. We've always had fires but never the smoke.
ReplyDeleteTake care and enjoy fall. :-) xoxoxo
Great bodies... Oops... I mean PHOTOS. Sorry you have to say good-bye to summer. I'd kiss you hard if it would make you feel better.
ReplyDeleteIt would!
Delete"The last rose of summer, Left blooming alone; All her lovely companions. Are faded and gone."
ReplyDeleteI really hate this time of year. Jx
I have always loved the verse. It's is always hard to be the last rose languishing on the vine........
DeleteThat song is also mine for the end of summer. Thought it was perfect when I first heard it. Lovely ode to summer. You certainly had a great one .....with some stunning posts.
ReplyDeletedrag queens? Beer Flights? Hot friends, bootyilious bartenders? Scenic beaches?
ReplyDeleteI can see why you'd be depressed. Great post to end on though.
please...didn't you just live the last 4 months in a square cut? or was it a fig leaf?
ReplyDeleteit was neither...it was butt nekkid 24/7!
DeleteDoes this mean no more building square cut shots? If so that is depressing. But what nice pictures...especially that group of you.
ReplyDeleteI love Summertime Sadness. It sure does fit and I love the lyrics of the song. I'd say you boys had a very fun summer. Love all the beach shots.
ReplyDeleteDid you know how to get dressed again?
ReplyDeleteBarely.
DeleteSummer is my favorite season too. Love all the pictures, thanks for sharing them. Is that the raven pool??? I assume so since there is a raven at the bottom. That's is cool.
ReplyDeleteWill you be alright with summer ending or do we need to find you more houseboys? Lovely shots...my favorite is the Land of the Giants. Or the shadows...cool shot.
ReplyDeletePerfect song for the existing of summer. I too get a little depressed when summer ends, but once the leaves change, I love autumn. I love those deer on the beach. Seems odd to see that.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful......makes me miss summer already.
ReplyDeleteI remember when you came out of a sea of mist and sang Summer Sadness at the ravens end of season pool show. That was incredible.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, Mistress, how will you protect yourself against the first chills of Autumn? Have you ever tried wearing a merkin? ;) But I agree that the passing of Summer is much to be lamented, unless you live in a tropical monsoon climate.
ReplyDeleteIt was a blast. Looking forward to November...;)
ReplyDeleteI can't take my eyes off the little guy in the picture half way down with the nice legs and taut ads. Is that the Lad?
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking one weekend a trip to the raven should be in order.
ReplyDeleteWhere should we kiss you????
ReplyDeleteA summer of whale tails, beach deer, and diagonal seagulls - what more could we ask for?
