SEA SHELLS BY THE SEA SHORE

After the last post, I was reminded that we must move on and not let the sadness and angry weigh us down....it's what those monsters would want. Summer is a fun time for me....I just finished work up today and will be preparing to go on holiday shortly!!!!!! The one thing I like about summer, and being a summer and beach person, are sea shells. Over the years, I have amassed quite a collection, of bought and found ones. I once even found a still closed scallop shell...very cool. My good friend the Dame Courtney also loves shells, and just because we don't live near a beach, doesn't mean we can't have some fun décor with them. They make a fun way to herald the season of summer. The Dame was kind enough to send me some snaps of his lovely and warm home.

Is it any wonder were good friends? We both  like the same things and have a fondness for peacock feathers!!! Here is the Casa du Borghese....

Im loving this candle this year.......

Here is that scallop shell I found in Rehoboth two years back. Hasn't bit me yet.
Of course I go one step further. Unlike the dame, you may recall I even wear sea shells as evening lounge wear. For the nights when me and the Lad role play Blue Lagoon

And on a side note, you know you may drink too much gin when a good friend of mine gave me this over the weekend....
YES!!!!! IT IS INDEED A GIN CANDLE!
And it smells just yummy, and no... you can't drink it. I tried, but suffered a burnt nose when I  forgot to blow the candle out first. So there is that learned.

  3. Great collection of shells. Bestest place I collected them was on a little remote beach in British Columbia. Could only be reached by hiking over after docking out boat. Saw sea otters, eagles flying overhead and little crabs hiding under rocks.

  4. I love all the little touches you both do...both homes look so comfy and inviting. It doesn't surprise me you tried to drink the candle...it did say gin on it.

  7. These are all fantastic photos - filled with the warm, wonderful essence of summer. And what can I say about that "Blue Lagoon" outfit.... it makes me want to abandon the mountains and become a beachcomber.

My large collection of seashells has curiously diminished over the years but I still have enough to display. Putting them in glass containers is a great (and beautiful) idea.

  16. Well, then, it's a good thing you didn't try to dip your dick in it for a bit of added, new flavor for The Lad. :-)

I have sea shells from every beach I've visited...so, my collection is very small! And I've never thought to use them as any type of dressing gown, so you've given me something new for lounge wear! I also collect sand from those beaches...
