YULETIDE AT THE CASA

Well another year has come and gone in the decoration department here at the Casa, and yet again , as you can see, the lights were the most fun to untangle!!!!!! I swear you put them away neat, and they come out a mess. How does this happen????? Tonight I had some guest in for some coffee and Pizelle's, to hang out and talk, always fun to entertain this time of year. So I thought I would give a nice Yuletide tour of my little bungalow. As always I used all red lights on the tree again, perfect for my personality. At night it looks so calming, but of course the local police department always thinks the red glow from the windows is me advertising my goods!!!!! As you will see, I mostly use a lot of natural elements, balls, balls, and more balls, and lots of fresh pine sprigs. Let it never be said you never saw my balls!!!! I also went back and used my other tree, instead of the huge "Tim Burton " tree from last year. It was very avant- garde but what a mess to take down. My " Red Light District tree" as it is know to the boys and my friends is decked out with red lights, red balls of various shades and sizes, 32 birds, and other various balls I collected over the years.......

Some of the other various ornaments on the tree........

When guest are here I always make them find the little mouse on the tree, a Casa tradition......

Love the shot of the tree in the mirror......

One of my favorite decorations, my Christmas Pyramid! When drinking gin, I could watch it spin for hours till I pass out fall asleep. The little ornament hanging on the pine is from suitor 3, the Russian!!!!

Lets head to the kitchen shall we? Let's take a peak in the bar, you must be parched after looking at all the balls.........oh and look, another tree with more balls....

this years apothecary jars...... with balls.....

More pine in the Casa facilities......

In the boudoir I have another small tree, with touches of more fresh pine and more red balls about, and a single bubble light given to me by the Dame Courtney..... I said there would be a lot of balls!

The ceramic deer head is bedecked with balls......

And that completes our tour........

 Coffee and a Pizzelle anyone?

  2. As always, your place looks amazing! But of all the things here the deer head with the balls is my favorite. How long does this take? I also must ask, was that an erect tree in your cords or are you just happy the holidays are here?

  10. so many balls, so little time!

cawfee (philly pronunciation) and some little pepi's pizelles are a good way to complete a visit. but I'd rather have a G&T with MY pizelles! :)

for non-tangled lights, get a light wheel: http://www.target.com/p/santa-s-bag-install-and-store-light-storage-set-red/-/A-14266228?ref=tgt_adv_XSG10001&AFID=Google_PLA_df&LNM=|14266228&CPNG=Unassigned&kpid=14266228&LID=PA&ci_src=17588969&ci_sku=14266228&gclid=CMLk5vmUubsCFW9nOgodnEUAaQ

  12. I expected you to be decking your balls with boughs of holly, but I suppose tangled red lights are somehow more appropriate. Jx

    1. Well.... after the accident last year with the holly, I thought lights more safe, and give your skin a flattering glow.

  18. Your tree and all of the special Christmasy touches are beautiful! I spent a good part of Sunday trying to get our tree straight (finally tied it up to a ceiling beam!) and am seriously considering going faux next year.

    1. Bryon- first off ignore Moorecock! Yes, the tree has some newer balls and quite a few vintage balls in addition to ornaments I collected over the years. And birds!!!!!!

  22. Lovely post and what beautiful touches. I'm and glad to see you are using vintage and ornaments with memories. A friend of mine said she threw out all her ornaments in order to make a theme tree. I was a bit not in agreement with that as I love the ornaments that have tradition with them. It is what Christmas is all about. I love the bear on the ball!
