Woman of A Thousand Faces

Eleanor Jean Parker was featured in some 80 movies and television series  nominated three time for an Oscar, and an actress of notable versatility, as she was known as Woman of a Thousand Faces. The younger generations may  recognize her  as the scheming baroness in the beloved musical, The Sound of Music  passed away on Monday from complications from pneumonia. When I was a wee little queen and watched the Sound of Music, I could almost wet myself waiting in anticipation for the Baroness to arrive, to bring some drama and glamour to a mousey governess, and drab family. Another great gone.

  1. Oh dear, I hadn't heard the news yet. I loved her in Scaramouche.

  2. Eleanor Paker was an impressively beautiful actress in Hollywood's golden ages. Her acting was remarkable in theatrical sense. Same how we don't hear about the passing of these great stars like the current ones.

  3. The exquisitely lovely and extraordinary actress. She should receive an oscar for her career. 'Caged' is the most powerful movie I have ever seen, and her interpretation is unmatched to this day.

I barely remember watching TSOM, but she's very beautiful. She looks like she would definitely command attention at any gathering.

  5. I could not believe that Stewart Granger would prefer Jamie Lee Curtis's mother to this magificent, passionate redhead.

  6. The Sound of Music is what I remember her from. She was classy and elegant in that movie. And a good sport when Maria stole the Captain from her!
