HOLIDAY GLITZ AT BENDELS

If you know me you'll know I LOVE ME some Henri Bendels.I use them for various items, but the one in particular is their candles. Oh.My.God. Continuing the window tour from New York the next stop was Henri Bendel's, who's holiday windows bring to life the illustrations of Al Hirschfeld, whose drawings of celebrities and Broadway performers ran in the New York Times for over seventy years, as well as many other notable titles. This year, Hirschfeld's drawings of Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Woody Allen, Sarah Jessica Parker, Carol Channing, Whoopi Goldberg, Liza Minnelli, and Bernadette Peters were all transformed into sculptures by Tom Carroll Scenery for the Bendel windows. Inside, Hirschfeld's rendition of Charlie Chaplin sits atop a two-story malachite tree!!!!! It was incredible to see. You can also find an exhibit of his drawings throughout the store.

I think I need one of these in the Casa! It would be nice in a boudoir to hold the guest's towels, no? Isn't she cute?

Before leaving I just had to hit the infamous Bendel candle wall. My all time favorite candle for the holiday season is their pomegranate candle. I picked up four, you know to have on hand. But all the scents are wonderful. One or two of these will scent your whole place.

And when I got home that night.....

I lit the candle and poured a glass of happy! Tootles!
