Oscar winning actress Joan Fontaine has died aged 96.
The Hollywood icon, who maintained a bitter rivalry with her sister and fellow actress Olivia de Havilland, passed away from natural causes in her sleep at her home in California on Sunday.

Fontaine's assistant confirmed the death , a fitting end for the star who once told Vanity Fair she wanted to die 'in bed – alone'.
She had been fading in recent days and died 'peacefully

Hard core I'd say. Although I do agree with her on marriage.
I just heard this. I have enjoyed Joan & Olivia on screen, if indeed it was sibling rivalry that kept them apart, you would think they would have ironed out their differences over the years. It just seems so petty! RIP Joan, you will always be remembered through your movies.
ReplyDeleteA beautiful lady and a fine actress. She was brilliant in both "Suspicion" and "Rebecca". I feel like I am losing old friends with these famed actors and actresses passing away. First Eleanor Parker, then Peter O'Toole, now the glamorous Joan Fontaine.
