A HALLOWEEN VISIT TO THE NEIGHBORS

Let's meet my very old , dear neighbors this Halloween shall we?

They're very quite, hardly ever hear a peep from them, they keep to themselves, and never ask to borrow sugar or gin.... but they really could take better care of the yard work........

yes......your correct, the Mistress lives next to a very old, now vacated church and it's very old cemetery. Shame how no one tends to it. Just this week though, I hear it may be converted to a fine restaurant and bar.The church that is, not the cemetery!!! The church closed my first year moved here from causes of a very small congregation. I don't think I ever mentioned I lived next to one. I often will walk through to get to the regional rail station into Philly since it's literally 5 minutes away instead of driving in. I've had many conversations with them, and have even had a few cocktails with them, but they never seems to par take. I don't think it ever crossed my mind living next to it. It did bother the Lad at first though.

Interesting... the one above. You very seldom see the time broken down by years, months and days on a tombstone these days.

1972 was the date of the last burial that I noticed. Some stones were so old the family name and dates were almost erased it seemed. But I did see one where the person died in 1794. Like I said, their a quite bunch, except for the occasional glowing lights and some random floating "cloud like" shapes

I jest of course, or am I???

Have a good Sunday!See you all on Monday! I told Jon, maybe tomorrow night I'll go next door and spread some Halloween cheer!
*and no, I have never had sport nookie in the cemetery.

  2. Well, you certainly have the perfect neighbors - - quiet and polite. And no barking fogs or screaming kids.

I LOVE old cemeteries and would be delighted to live next to one (not IN one, however....). Thanks so much for taking us on a tour. I'd like to grab a bottle of gin and walk through there late on Halloween night. Accompanied by you, of course.

    1. Okay, I meant to say barking DOGS, not barking FOGS....it was a typo.

But I suppose a haunted graveyard should have some barking fog.

  4. I wonder why 1972 was the last burial.

Did they run out of space?

    1. In answering my own question, it's probably because the church closed.

    2. After some inquiring....they did indeed run out of room for more bodies. Your well aware we stack stiffs high at the casa.

  5. I heard of rigid neighbors, but that is ridiculous.

  6. No sex?!?! When I was with my ex, we had sex in a cemetery once.....probably the most exhilarating orgasm I ever had! Some of those dates sure are old.

    1. And here I thought those were cats caterwauling. The closest I have come is sex on a golf course.

  7. As beautiful as cemeteries can be, there is just a allure to them that gives us chills. Some find comfort in them, but I see beauty and lovely concrete art and architecture. Would the cemetery remain if the church becomes a restaurant?

  9. My neighbor (not a graveyard) is having a Halloween party right now, and not the little kids shrieking with too much candy kind. More the slutty nurse costume shrieking with too much liquor kind

  10. When I was in my last two years at university, I lived across the street from a cemetery that dated back before the Civil War. One of the tombstones read, "She got what she deserved."

  11. I love walking through old cemeteries. And, those folks love the company, you know...that they are being remembered and thought of.
By all means, walk on over tomorrow night and offer them some libations...leave the bottle! We put a bottle of scotch in the flower-holder for my father - next time my sister went by, it had been drunk.
    Happy Hallowe'en(ie), my mistress!
