BONNIE & CLYDE

Today is going to be a glorious day. The weather is already nice and sunny. The day has started so far with my coffee and bird watching. Yesterday I was having a talk with our Duchess Deedles in the blogosphere,, and we were saying how depressing news and the climate in more ways then one has gotten weather and country. Hugs are in order I tell you! So this morning Bonnie and Clyde came by. I am guessing they may be like Deedles and her balder half she calls him. Having never met the Duke and Duchess Deedles, I suspect they are like Bonnie and Clyde. They are always here and faithful, entertaining, quite the hams, polite and welcoming to the other birds,  and Bonnie has put Clyde in his place if he gets sassy, in which she will strut back to her spot eating. Bonnie is also known to peek in when I'm in my unders.  So this post is being dedicated to the Deedles today.
Would love to know what their saying???

The attitude. Talk to the tail Clyde, talk to the tail.

Later in the morning another dove, smaller, a juvenile me thinks, was taking a snooze!  How adorable is this?

Im off later to the Morris Abortorium with a picnic lunch, blanket, and book to rest the day away.

  1. Awwww, *sniff*! Cute birds. Bonnie is a braver being than me. I would never, ever tell BH to talk to the tail! He would take it as a hands on invitation and it is going to be 102 degrees again! You are a sweetheart, Mistress.

    1. I know what your saying Duchess Deeldes. If I said that to William, he would most certainly take that opportunity, provided the hydraulics still work.

      Stay cool dear.

    2. A cardinal rule, no pun intended. A wife should never turn her backside to her husband...especially if she isn't in the mood!

    6. Well, Carebear, you are my mentor in these kind of things! I learn from the best! Now if I can only figure out how to knit.

    7. Who knew turning your back on a man could be a mistake and time consuming thing? You'd think I would have learned that by now.

Deedles...I sure hope you staying cool in cool damp towels...but doesn't that get the balder half worked up? Our weather here has been pretty spring like...so far. Underoos? I used to have superman and batman. I miss those!

  3. What a unbelievably cute post!!!!! Those birds have got to have a comfort level with you as you get this close. Amazing pictures and detail, especially the one sleeping. Talk about comfortable. These birds love you!

I'm also adoring your flowers there. I love fresh flowers in the home.

  4. What cuteness. Are mourning doves usually mates for life?

That one sleeping wins the pictures of the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. We have three mourning doves who come by for a visit. They are too big to fit on the bird feeders so we have set up two other areas for their seed. They will all sit on the bird water dish, hind ends over the water and use it as a toilet. So that is one of our chores turning the toilet bowel into a water bowl again.... xoxoxoxo

  9. What wonderful photos! Sorry, I am not good on captions, but I'm sure they are happy for the sill of seed! Or is it sin?

Peony's and Gerber daisies...two of my favorite flowers.

    1. I did feel rather violated. But the other day I was caught by a tree trimer in my underwear. You'd think being on a second floor, I could streak naked...who knew?

  14. I have a question, sweetie. How can you tell who is who? You didn't look up Bonnie's skirt did you?

    1. Eros, believe it or not..no peeping! The three ways to tell male from females are size, males are slightly bigger, color, males tend to be a tad richer gray and have a blue tint sometimes to their heads, and the males tend to coo more and slightly deeper. In these pics, Clyde is on the right. In flight also, the male will lead.

    2. Deedles I meant. I saw the avatar and thought this was Eros. I need my opera glasses.

    3. There ya go, Maddie. I put my picture back to make it easier. Eros is much more eloquent in his writing than I am, just for future reference ;)

  18. You have such wonderful birdlife there :) Great pictures.

  19. That last picture is something. Must be comfortable with trust with you.

Mean while I think Clyde is telling Bonnie to "Stop starring at the naked male human inside, there is nothing you can do about it." Course he is starring too. Maybe they swing.

we went to the ambler theater and had lunch at "the lucky well" restaurant across the street. one of the lunch apps was "lucky balls". I asked the server if HE had lucky balls; he said no. he needs to meet some of the houseboyz!

  21. Hi, Mistress!
I've not seen your blog for a long time and I'm here again. I see you know so many species of birds. Lovely photos!

  22. Hahaha, thanks for the smiles this today, Mistress:) Great photos! They are so close and detailed. I bet their very soft.

  23. What fantastic fotos of lively, healthy birds. I like how they all know to come to your place for a meal and a safe place to rest.

But now I'm curious. How are the robins reacting to all that bird traffic? Do they mind the visitors? Or it's just another normal day in the Maddiehood?

    ReplyDelete

    1. Well, the robins are on the other whole side of the pied Dr Terre. To my knowledge, I have never seen them on the sill. They mostly eat bugs, worms and sometimes berries, but don't know their seed eaters. The babies are getting big already.

  24. Yeah, hugs have been in order an awful lot lately. I love Deedle's name for her partner, the Balder Half. Very clever. Hope Sunday was great and Monday is better than you might expect.

    1. Welcome aboard Mike!!!!! I do love mourning doves myself, especially in the morning when it's quite and I can hear them cooing. It's very peaceful. Other posts I have done are pictures of where I have had almost 15 doves on the window sill at once.

I'm alas, a bird magnet....and more then one kind.

  26. They are so cute! I wish I had birds like this outside my window. Mostly, I have annoying crows sitting in the palm trees.

    1. I have crows too, but they don't seem to stick around. Black birds and starlings are the ones I get.
