Here we are in Pride month again. This weekend was the big Pride festivities for Philadelphia with a huge parade starting in the gayborhood.....leading down Market Street to where it ends at the pride festival grounds at the beautiful Penn's Landing on the waterfront. Always a good time.
As we approach another celebratory season for our community lets remember, that everyone should be included and their interpretation should be their own, if that's dressing up in a wig and heels, fairy wings and glitter, leather bears in chaps, or prancing around in short shorts in the body someone worked their ass off to achieve. If it means a harness and jock strap, Folsom it up baby. Be brave and be you. Let everyone celebrate in their own manner and remember to welcome all parts of the community in and as one. Jocks, queens, dykes, bears, fems, leather daddies, trans, and friends of the gays. Leave your judgements to the outsiders. This is our Pride and it belongs to all of us. This month is for everyone to celebrate however they choose. It's their journey and they are allowed to express it however they want and without judgement.
Lets appreciate our diversity, it's what makes us so special. And I wouldn't want it any other way. And let also remember the true meaning of Pride and those who make our life possible.
Happy Pride Month kids!
