  1. Happy birthday, dear Dolly! Many have starred in the role, but it is still hers!

  5. Nice that she's still with us. About a year ago I was watching an old black-and-white Merv Griffin show on a digital channel, and she was the guest. What made this appearance a special treat is that she was still starring in Hello Dolly at the time. In fact, the Broadway theater Merv's show was taped in was right next door to hers. They actually showed her walking from one theater to other. One for the ages.
    Happy birthday, Carol.

  7. It's beyond me why they didn't have Carol Channing do the Superbowl half time show.

  10. And I always drank the champagne made from grapes. Maybe that’s what I was doing wrong.
