MONDAY MOMENTS

Yes, the story does continues..... I still do not like Mondays....never will, but for some reason they are not as bad in the summer? Why is that? I am ready and willing to go today, and for some reason flamingos always put me in a happy mood as does the color pink. I have no idea why, but I'll go with it. I would think it must be cool to live in Florida and see these spectacular birds everywhere. I wonder if they are like our Canadian Geese we get inundated with here??? And is it me, or do they look like the comedians of the bird world???

How adorable is that baby!!!!!!! Looks as though he's on stilts!

How amazing is this flock!?!?!?!

Let's all run out and get one shall we?

  1. I'm not a huge fan of Mondays, but at least in my current job they're tolerable.

  3. I write books for my ten nieces and nephews about Ralph the squirrel. It is timely as this book is about lawn flamingos and Ralph having an adventure. I'll post a picture when I pick out my favorite one. This is for Christmas so I have some time.
btw - if anyone is interested I publish these books thru Bookemon.com. I can make hardback or paperback and they can be all different sizes. A paperback costs about $12 and a hardback $32. I figured it all out myself without the resident computer genius so I highly recommend it. Any questions ask me on thedogsmother.

  5. I love flamingo too. They do look like they should be funny, but I understand they can be nasty!

  6. "Think pink! think pink! when you shop for summer clothes.
Think pink! think pink! if you want that quelque chose.
Red is dead, blue is through,
    Green's obscene, brown's taboo.
And there is not the slightest excuse for plum or puce
    ..or chartreuse.
Think pink! forget that Dior says black and rust.
Think pink! who cares if the new look has no bust.
Now, I wouldn't presume to tell a woman
    what a woman oughtta think,
But tell her if she's gotta think: think pink!"

  7. In the wild, flamingoes eat a certain kind of shrimp or something that keeps them nice and pink. In captivity they have to have dye in their food. Otherwise, they fade. There's your trivia for the day!

  8. I particularly like the penultimate picture - Those flamingoes look like they're watching one of their number coming in for a particularly nasty landing!

Oh, and we have flamingoes in Cromer!

  9. Flamingos are much like peacocks....the prettiest birds are temperamental. Sticks with cocks I say.

  10. Your absolutely right about them seeming funny. I saw once on a nature show how they have a breeding dance they do in a huge group. HILARIOUS! But they are beautiful.

  11. As much as I too love a pretty pink Flamingo, it saddens me to tell you that the only Flamingo's that you'll find in Florida are the plastic ones on the lawns.
